Hi all, I just finished the VFX diploma program at Vanarts -Vancouver, Canada, specializing in shader, lighting and rendering and currently looking for job anywhere (i have 2 years work experience as shader and lighting artist before)-for more information please take a look at my website at : http://as07.3dk.org.

everything is done entirely by me (modeling, texturing, lighting and compositing), software used are:3dsmax, photoshop and after effects

ps : everything rendered in standard render (without GI, final gather, etc) just some help from ambient occlusion. and most of them rendered in less than 2 minutes with multiple passes(which is shown in the breakdown at the end of the movie)
all the format in mov sorenson video 3 compression.

Personal demoreel : Hi quality (40 Mb mov) (http://as07.com/lighting_demoreel2006_hi.mov) lo quality (20 mb mov-zipfile) (http://as07.com/Lighting_demoreel_2006-low.zip)

I love your style, you give your images a special "fantasy" touch to them, with the colorful lightning and imaginative concepts such as the ones in your "tower of magic" pic.
I'd love to see lightning tutorials for max coming from you if you ever plan to make any.
Keep it up.

I wish I knew how to light like that T_T

I think it's really cool. The environments in your personal demo reel remind me of scenes you'd find in a Final Fantasy game (like the 'fantasy' feeling TheCheshireCat posted earlier).

PERSONAL ONE:

I'm just downloading the 40mb one now, the personal one :)

Thats very nice! Haha, I thought "wow, that one with the cup looks so realistic". Then realised at the end it was just the cup that was 3D, but you couldn't tell it wasn't part of it!

I think the 1st scene then was the most realistic in terms of lighting useage, but the other brightly coloured lit ones were very nice, and would suit an animation type movie.

You had on the one to last scene though, a light swaying, but the spot light on the floor didn't seem to move with it.

I loved the texture on the walls and floor though of all scenes, like for example the first one with that nicely reflected one, with the cloths on the ceiling that were slightly transparent, to the pillars on the second scene.

Did you render out different portions and then put them together in After Effects? I.e, like the breakdown? Or is that just showing a render workflow before you got to the final one?

THE GROUP ONE:

Wow, that last one looked so real :D

Before the shot breakdown, I couldn't tell if the room was 3D or composited for example, but it seems that was 3D.

The gun also looked realistic, and the planes very well done :)

OVERALL:

I think you have some very nice work reels there, that would definietly impress a company wishing to hire someone.
