View Full Version : The Ancor That Wrecked The Car

Alright, this is my newest work.

My inspiration actually was. You always see alot of people modeling cars and its always about how good a car is modeled to the real reference. Well i build a car, actually a mustang and than i thought. No i don't wanne make a car scene on is own, i want it to be a fantasy story. Something that just won't happen in real life. So i was on vacation for about 2 weeks on a boat and saw alot of anchors. Than the thought came up of smashing the ancor into the car and make an ambience in my own head of how everything would go and i made it. When working on the concrete ceiling my computer kept crashing on texture memory, thats why its not as detailed as it could be, bud overall it was the result that was in my head.

This actually is a project that took along time and the progress is in this thread.....

Looks very cool. But heh why would an anchor fall through the roof of a building in the middle of a forest?

This came out great!

I'd also like to take a moment to thank you for providing such an informative WIP thread. I learnt alot from seeing how you made your textures and I hope you'll follow the same trend on your next project, I wish more people would do the same!

Once again, great work and thanks!

You can't always carry around your WIP thread to explain what the picture is about. If people ask what it is about, carry a short description around with the image. Instead of always refering them to the WIP thread.

sorry , your right. Didn't knew people were affended by it. Other people post their making off's with it if they have one, bud its tru about the description. Ill watch that....

Oh, I mean not that you shouldn't have posted your WIP, but just include the Basic story in this thread, with the completed image, that's all.

I saw this thread a few days ago and decided to read through your WIP thread as well. I think your work, especially the lighting/rendering is amazing! I hope to learn the same lighting/texturing/rendering skills you know some day. =)

5*! =)

Woah man!! Awesome photolike render, also gives a maple feeling in it, great tip too on the texture photographing!!

Just a quick question though, when you did a rendershot on the plant, did you model the plant out, or did you used a technique so you only had to use the texture to make it look like a 3d plant? Cant figure out how you do that technique though, I see it awefully lots in games on tree's, its like a texture and they used a white background for masking or something... ><!

ps. Ik vind em echt fantastisch! :p

Wow, thats a mouthfull,

thanks you very much. I replyd in dutch so its easier for you. For the other guys around here. He just asked me about making displacement & alpha maps and i explained the basics a little bit..Thanks all

I dont understand this scene so i will try to minimize what to say. The concrete blocks are bended, thats impossible. Otherwise hmmm dont know what to say, or how to say it, so I´am not gonna say anything....

Ciao.

Thanks!
