Hi guy. I need an answer quick its urgent. Can someone pls tell me if AfterEffects can split videos. Like split a long video to some small videos. And can it help me dub some audio?
It would be great if anyone could explain how to do these tasks. Cause I'm completely new to it.
Thanks

no. it can't. Well, not really. When you open a new file you have to set the timeline to how long you want it to be.
So unless you know where you want to cut the video your screwed. But if you do, then you could just render out parts instead of the whole thing. Then move the movie around in the timeline till you render all the parts you want.

I just saw your thread, of course you can split your videos
You can make different compositions, load your footage, and set the in an out, shift + [ for in, and shift + ] for out, there you trim your file, then, in another composition put the same file but with you different in an out.
Then when you have all your compositions, go to the render queue, and from your project window drop all your compositions, of I forgot, in every composition move your in and to the lenght or you footage, so you wont render black frames.
Now you can render all your files at the same time.
I'm trying to post a screen grab, but there is something wrong with the server I thibk

Yeah I know that now. I found it out myself last night. nThe only problem I was facing was that the file was a DAT file but later I got a converter and gotmy job done.

Do you have Premiere? For future projects I would recommend that for editing/cutting, etc. since it gives more of an intuitive interface. AfterEffects is good for, well, effects. And compositing, and things of that nature. At least, that's what I've noticed.
