Problem with install (3dsMax5.0)

Hi, i have some problem. If i start 3dsMax at WinXP then i see at Windows Task-Manager, that the process winlogon.exe use over 80MB RAM an need all the time 90-95% from my CPU. Befor i have start 3dsMax this process have 1,4 MB Ram and use 0% from my CPU. Whats wrong there? I can`t work with 3dsMax, bacause all CPU usage from the process winlogon.exe.

Wow... that's really strange. I really don't have any clue why that would happen. Have you installed service pack 1? If you haven't, I suggest you do a repair, and then install service pack 1. But if you already have service pack 1 installed, DO NOT do a repair because you will not be able to get in the internet. If that is the case, then tell me and I will give you instructions on how to repair with service pack 1 already installed.

I have installed all Updates from Microsoft at moment. Under Windows 2000 i haven`t some problemens. I don`t know, whats wrong there :( .

He he he... you running Norton Antivirus as well? Try disabling Norton from the system tray and run MAX. I experienced exactly the same thing with Win2k Sp3 and having Norton 2002 running with MAX.
