When I wrote that I didn't see any image :) If it was my browser or connection I appologize for the sarcasm :) The link works for me now too. Didn't work at work, but at home I could get it open. Strange....

A haiku for Diabolos:

Punches cut the air
A kick will bring cold darkness
Then the fight begins.

Diablos: Haha, you silly german. I really wanted to do this one. I was thinking shoryuken right away, but there was no chance in hell I would be able to finish it. I probably won't be able to finish the next one either... :(

I'll comment all the animations when we start voting :)

Woo! This is my first entry that I actually got in on time :haha:

However, I kinda ran out of time, and similar to BiG ToE, didn't get a chance to start animating until a few days ago...*shakes fist at school work and the sort*

Anyway, even though it didn't turn out as I had originally planned (rather than an elbow to the face and a sweep, I was going to try and throw a groin-kick in there somewhere as well...oh well, perhaps for a future competition :haha:) and that it's only a playblast (sorry guys--I didn't have time for any fancy rendering stuff :lame:), I'm still happy with it as my first real submission. Here 'tis!

For the Maya people out there, here's a little tip if you're going to submit a playblast. From whatever view you are going to record the playblast from, select show->none (and everything will disappear), then do show->polygons in the same view, and only the models will show up (no cameras, bones, helpers, etc...). If it's a NURBS model, do NURBS surfaces instead. You'll get a cleaner and more presentable playblast from that, a little easier on the eyes.
Great entries all, going to be hard to vote!

Aha! Thanks for the tip, DerekSc :haha: I'll keep that in mind for next time =)

1 | DerekSc - This animation was the smoothest and most realistic, imo. The moves flowed well together, and the weight distribution seemed realistic. The only comment I have on it is that the impact of the punches and kicks could be a little more exaggerated, but other than that it was a really good job.

2 | BiG ToE - The animation in this one was smooth as well. You had a brief run cycle in there, as well as a cool sword move and effect. The only thing I think that could be changed were the camera angles; they seemed to be a little distracting from the actual animation itself, so I didn't get to see everything I wanted to see.

3 | Freespace - Although it was short, the 'swiping' motion and attack was fairly smooth and follow through with other limbs was accurate.

Good job everyone

1st - SeamZ2B: Great timing, the weight is good, and you've put a lot of effort into the secondary animation as well (I see lots of ear wiggling and toe movement, looks great).

2nd - BiG ToE: Nice overall effort, good reactions from both characters. It doesn't hurt that I've always loves Kasumi and Taki's blade charge moves, and the characters remind me a bit of Kung Fu Chaos as well, one of my favourite XBox games.

3rd - ItsaMystery: Also well timed, just a few extra touch ups and it'll look really good (the left arm pops at the end, and a little more follow through at the end of the sweep - it's losing momentum by the time it should be hitting something). Good job though.

Everyone else, very nice work - keep it up, and thanks for the votes, I'm astounded!

Hammering3D, you (*cough*we*cough*) still have a week and a half for the angel, give it a shot. And where the heck is XYZ?!
