View Full Version : Synpianical - Download first track: Mood Synth
I decided to post this here, seeing as no one has used it to show their own music yet :)
This song is from my first album which is in production (well...saying that, I'm a student and not getting much done...and I'm working the second track which links straight from this one)
I'd say I'm as much a musician as a 3D guy, and love making music.
The album is called Synpianical and as the name suggests will bring in synth, and piano (among other instruments) into a finished works. I tend to create Ambient music. Supposedly from a mate, it helps him work.
I hope you like the first track:
Mood Synth.
Created in Renoise using VST instruments and a MIDI keyboard. Enjoy, and any comments/suggestions are always welcome in my book as some changes to it might occur. I do prefer more replies to views though :( (Note: Turn down bass :p)

EDIT:
Please comment :) I really do appreciate any comments that come in, as you've took the time to listen and reply.
Thanks for listening you people that have :)
I just wish I got some comments... of what you thought of it, and possibly some tips to improve/add to it.

Sounds great to me, although theres a point where it feels like the piano should gain pace to match the beat, and it just sort of fades a little. I'll pinpoint it for you later perhaps, Apart from that I like the mood of it, and the piano is an interesting idea.
Hey, thanks for the reply BlackWolf :)
Glad you like it. As for the piano not picking up pace, there is meant to be a slow bit in it, rather like a classical song with trance elements within it.

 the sound great
Wow, thanks :) I thought this thread was dead.
I'm going to be carrying on my album very soon. I'm quitting University since I hate it, and taking a gap until I find something better. In that time, I'll have alot of time to spruce it all up, and finish it (hopefully).
As soon as I buy this, I can be under way :D
Quantum Leap COLOSSUS:

That should improve my instrument range, no end, and super realistically too, since it has a 32 Gigabyte library, spanning 8 DVD's to start making music with :p

Hey Kage!
"Mood Synth" sounds very good as a music piece.
There is great harmony, but it "hides" behind many reverbs.
I find that the piano could be clear and dry at time 2:00-2:30, where it plays all alone. (this way it gets closer the the listener, and gives a feel of moving into an intimate environment), and then go back to open space. i believe that the "classical" will be more present this way.
AbhishekKr, I'll be awaiting your comments :) Do I Rock?, haha :p
hagaizz, thanks alot for listening, and giving your view! :D
I do agree with you actually. I never thought about that, and yeah, I may implement it!

cool.
is it all samples, or also live playing?
Its not samples in the way your thinking.
It uses VSTi's, which is basically an instrument that holds all the samples within it of each note, but uses the processor alot to handle effects of different instruments they may have, like pitch bend, etc, needed to play on the keyboard, yet, its all me doing the playing.
Its not like you get in many programs, put that loop there, but this loop here. So it is all me making the music, so don't make that assumption :p

It is and isn't live playing. The program I use, Renoise records using a step fashion, so that song was compositited more like, with me playing a note, moving down how many steps I need, and recording another. It took a while.
Glad you think its kewl :p
This is a screenshot of the interface, and a part of synthmood programmed in:

Each part is in tracks. As you can see, theres the pattern on the left, the bass, then the piano, and finally the drums.

Not Sure i understood. U use midi keyboard, or write the notes using mouse?
I use a Midi keyboard yes, to place the note values (using softness/hardness) and key (A,B,C,D,E,F,G,etc), but use the mouse/standard keyboard to select where the notes are going to go on the tracks, and for standard working of the program/effects.
Damn... it couldn't have been 30 days already?!
