Hey everyone, if you have been following my path. You probably have not seen much of my work lately. Well, the reason is that I have been working on a Game drawing up lots of sketches/concept art. I am currently the only graphic artist on the team.
We are looking for two/three people at the moment.
A little about the team:
We are a team of three right now (1 Designer, 1 Artist, 1 Programmer). We are currently working on what's needed to prepare a demo for prospective publishers. This means, of course, that we have no funding at the moment but we are developing with the intent to go commercial. In essence, this is a call for talented developers who want to get in on the ground level of an exciting project.
A little about the project:
We are working on a Persistent Online Role Playing Game (PORPG was deliberately selected in favor of MMORPG) with focus on beautiful cutting edge graphics, and battle. The game will not be as sophisticated as your typical MMORPG, because the number of players in the world is only eight. Character data is persistent, but the actual game worlds are static. A comparable game would be Phatasy Star Online on the Sega Dreamcast. The game will be very easy to get into with the focus put into the player logging on, having a blast of fun, and logging off.
We are developing it in C++ / DirectX 8.1 (considering directx 9)
This is the best description we can give in a nutshell without flooding this board with technical and design documents, so contact me in private for more information.
Who we are looking for:
Game Artist:
Must be capable of producing sketches and concept art. (turning the art to a model is not required, but preferred). The modeler will be required to do this part.
Artist should have knowledge equivalent to a 2nd year college art major or equivalent. Sorry, we just need really talented people.
Texturer:
This person must be able to create very detailed textures for models and terrains. knowing how to map the models using U.V. mapping as well as being able to take a completed model and map it is a plus, not required for this person. This person maybe the same person who does the Game Art and is preferred. Otherwise they will work closely with the Game Artist.
Modeler:
We have about 50 models for the first level to be created. I simply can't create them all. I will need an assistant that is as good as me or better. Must also be able to turn concept art produced by the Game Artist to a model.
All Candidates must be:
18 years or older. The reason for this is that we intend to go commercial with this project, and for legal reasons, minors could significantly cripple our chances of landing a solid deal, as well as cause unnecessary complexity in company structure.
Able to move to central location where the team leader decides. At the moment we are all working from our various locations across the US, but when we acquire a publisher, we will need to relocate and work out of an office.
Must be able to work legally in the US. For those living outside of the US, you must be able to relocate to the US on your own dime when the time comes.
Must have more than 2 years graphics experience with a sizable portfolio or impressive..
That's all, LET THE POSTS FLY!!
