Update:New images below

Well my body decided I needed to be sick as a dog today, so I opened Maya. This is about 9 hours of work. I took many breaks because UT2k3 has that new invasion mode and I just love playing it. lol

So have a look see:

Yep I know, its not that great, but here is the real reason I build it.

This is my first rigged character ever. I tried some tutorials on the subject, got pissed, and figured out Maya IK all by my lonesome. I may texture it and use the tutorial on how to get something into UT2k3 just to see if I can. Now I go sleep.

Invasion?!?!?!? What are you talking about? Is that from the Epic Bonus pack? Downloading that now. Ya it in there. I'll check it out. Maybe we can play sometime :D

Looks good, and it looks like you got the animations. I'm working on mine now.:D

Hope you feel better. I was sick too, but I recovered today.

--edit-- Mutant is my favorite new one, invasion is good, and didn't get to last man standing, but I bet thats also good.

Cool man...enough for testing out IK setups. Maya may be good for low poly but the MAX still maxes it out..lol...kidding. Actually Sniper it aint what u use....its HOW u use it. Like to me ms3d is utter crap and Maya too...why u ask? Cuz I don't know nada bout them I preffer max cuz I know it. And Maya is vastly used today in the gaming market.

Ah man, 'm trying to learn Maya, but it so freaking difficult with all those menu's...
Anyways, I understand that Max is mostly used for modeling and Maya for animation. Both Max and Maya are common in the game industrie, and to be onnest I never see any diffrence between a maya model or a max model, though I prefer the max interface above maya's.

ms3d is easier...and faster
to me maya is utter crap to ms3d...for low poly that is, but other wise (hi poly) maya is undoubtedly the best!!!!!

Hey we gonna see an animation of that robo Bob? :D

Sorry to say it Snipa but in the words of the almighty Yoda:

Much to learn...you still have.

See u think ms3d is good cuz u know it right. U cant say either that Maya is the best just because it is ranged mostly in motion pictures these days. And thats probably cuz it really rocks in animation solutions. U got lots things out there. Id say that Maya, Max, LW, C4D rule at the moment but there still are alot of others to choose from. So I still like to point out that, it is not about what u use but HOW u use it. See Ive used ms3d ubt never modeled in it...tried I did but I'm too awuainted in MAx to start with other stuff. ms3d is really good if u want to convert your things to other platforms and if u just do it for funs sake then I think its really affordable as a software. Just like Animation Master wich btw over the course of the past years has gotten immensly strong in rendering solutions and still rocks as an animation tool since that is the main purpouse of it. Anyway I don't wanna bother u with it but I just thiink u should widen your perspective some. :D

Well that robot hit the scrap yard. I just didn't like him, that is the problem of working while your really sick. Anyway he has a big brother that is almost done, and I'm not sick so I'm pretty sure I like what I am doing with him.

There is no way I could agree with you more. Lets not get into a "best low poly program" fan boy argument here. There is no such thing as a "best 3d program"

We all work in different ways and each 3d package caters to a different way of thinking. Don't fool yourself into thinking that the way your brain works is how every one else’s dose. Max's interface is beyond confusing to me. Maya feels like home to me. But you will never hear me say, "Maya is the best and max sucks" Because that is very untrue.

Use what ever floats your boat.

I'll post my new robot, Unit 73, when I finish his arms (can't seem to get it right) If you guys want I will put together an SDK for it then pack the three best skins (solo, blue team, red team) into the final in game model.

It is not done, I still need to finish the legs and arms but I thought I would post to get some feed back.

U73 old 2 (http://www.jupiter-project.com/Raptor/head.jpg)
u73 old 3 (http://www.jupiter-project.com/Raptor/feet.jpg)

he is at 1616 triangels at the moment so I have quite a few to play with.

Update: He is now sitting at a nice 2322 triangles (I think I can shave those 22 off) Well he had kind of an over haul in the last few hours.

Trying to get the upper torso to look counter balanced. I also plan to change up the elbow joints a little.

I'm not sure on this but it seems that the body must lean more backwards to compensate the head. Or the head should be little less sticking out front. Now it looks a bit unatural (for a robot);)

e head is out like that for the same reason the arms are. It makes it easy to rig. Once I am done with the IK (I hate this stuff) and the UV mapping (going blind with hate) I will update. He may be on hold for a bit. Got a job offer and I have to put together some stuff to show. Update as soon as I got something.
