Was a little hesitant of posting this in the job search forum.

When building a demo reel, what's the best format:

building sequences of animation that lasts about 6 seconds each (or more) before cutting to the next ?

or

flicking up as many as possible over a short period of time like say 1> or a full second each flick?

I read that alot of recruiters and hr people prefer to have all of the action happen in the first 10 seconds before even considering the demo reel
however, I wouldnt want to give the wrong impression and go on to making my flicks so short they are almost static as they won't really reflect all that much, just look like one of those commercial jumbles that seem undescriptive of the work involved.

Is the industry now prefering the ADHD route?

Maybe I should make two versions - one short, one long?

first, you need to start out with your best work. If your going for an animation job then you need to show that you can animate. A good 10 second clip full of action is great. But don't show 10 seconds of boring.

Let me put it this way. You want to show off what your good at. If you have of 100 animations, you pick the best ones. Those are the animations you use. Then you pick the best parts of those animations, and try to find a way to link them together. You don't want the demo reel to drag, meaning, keep the pace fast. You made a statment about ADHD, your right, you need to get the viewers attention right away, and then keep it. Make them want more, make them want to hire you.
