Hi, Friends.
I hope everything is alright at Christmas time. Here is my first contribution at this Speed Painting Challenge Nº 58. I used PhotoShop CS and CorelDraw 12’s Photopaint indiscriminately. 55 minutes, with mouse.
I changed our New Year's Celebration for Chinese New Year’s Celebration. The Dragon’s dance is very showy. I put various men in attitude of dance with dragon’s disguinse. I tend to break the form in my artworks and to confuse figure with brackground. Can you see the dragon and the dancers?
Reference: My visual memory
I hope you like it. Thanks

Hey Jessie_Rivers...nice work...i haven't tried these challenges yet, but I'm putting them on my New Years list of things to do in 07!

By the way, I totally agree with you...chainface is apparently a moron. :grr: There is no room for that kind of ignorance on here. Alzheimers is a terrible disease and this forum is no place to demoralize the people who have it or the families affected by it.

Cheers,
Steve

Hello friends
A New Happy Year for All.
Here is my second contribution at this Speed Painting Challenge Nº 58. I used PhotoShop CS and CorelDraw 12’s Photopaint. 45 minutes, with mouse.
Continuing with the customs of other parts of the planet, this time I took the celebration of the new year in Vietnam. Years ago I had a teacher Vietnamese that taught me ceramic. She is a person of great heart, but very hard with the ceramic students. I learned crockery design with her. I wish her a New Happy Year where she wants her to be.
The party Vietnamese is par excellence Tẽt, the New lunar Year, that falls at the end of January or beginnings of February. That day, all are an older year. Tẽt hard three days, throughout which the Vietnamese are devoted to prepare banquets and to visit to the family and the friends. Before Tẽt, clean people their houses, it reconditions the tombs of their ancestors, they liquidate their debts and they straighten the personal tight relationships. Something that I find very important. At the beginning of every new year, we all should forget all the bad one and to begin with having renovated hopes. I know that it is easier of saying that to make. But, that it is the road.
I hope you like it. Thanks

To Lukanus: Thank you for your comment. In certain way you are also an abstract painter when you break the form of the sphere of the clock and in other parts of your illustration. Very good work.
To artencl: Hello. Very good range of colors. The violets opposed to the oranges and the greens to the red ones with touches of clear yellow. That is a well kept secret: The yellow in the compositions is friend of all the colors, and it spreads to appease the fury of the color orange and the red one. Very good work.

Hi all,

Apart from all the merryment, i thought i would portray something about the reflections that we have on new year's eve about being with a loved one. How it would be wonderful if they could be together then. Hope you like it :)

Done in Painter IX in 3hrs 30mins

A Beautiful and Happy new year to all!!!

Hey all! Merry new year!

So busy lately and just couldn't get the chance to enter to oul' challenges recently but hopefully I'll be back into the swing of things soon (maybe even for this challenge :))

Some great works put forward this time. As always I particularly love your image, Waheed - so colourful with great brush strokes, detail...and so tasty looking ;)

Anyway...tough challenge topic - best get my thinking cap on and set aside some time to enter before I miss this one too.

C ya!

Photoshop, Wacom, 1 hour painting.
My very first time joining speed painting challenge. Despite of this ugly paint I did, I'm quite happy with it. Probably I learnt something, it was quickly done and hopefully qualified. Anyway, I wasn't intend to win this, I mean it's impossible for me to win. LOL :D

I'm more than appreciate if you could spend some time to critic my work, I need to improve. Thanks, and Happy New Year!
