Hi!
This is my second work in 3d. Please send me suggestions!

Murc XIII

looks pretty good. the blurriness is bugging me in that picture. It would be okay if one part of the guitar (either close or far) was out of focus, but it seems to me that the entire guitar is out of focus.

Sweet!

I agree with Murc though, the DOF is too extreme. You're focusing on the bridge and everything else is out of focus. Widen your depth of field a bit and it'll be great!

Also, perhaps some grain to the body, then lay the shine on?

Thats pretty good for only your second scene. The camera angle is a little awkward and i don't like the grainyness either. The model is fine though. keep it up.

I agree, the blurrines is too extreme and I will work in a new version.
I will make improvements in the light and in the model too.
Thanks!

echoing everyone elses comments about the dof and lighting, Ill offer a few crits on the model itself

1, it's not the right shape for a strat - if you've modelled off a real one, then note how then body tapers to one side - unfortunately the side you have in the front of your image :)

2, the edges are just too sharp - a strat is far more rounded

3, the studs in the pick up don't protrude that much as a rule they sit almost flush.

4, it looks like your bridge assembly is sitting on top of the scratch plate - it shouldn't be the plate is cut around the bridge

5, the fretboard looks flat - it should be curved

6, there are no numbers/text on the volume and tone controls

all thats lacking here is attention to detail, and thats what makes good models great models. Onceyou have an accurate model, then you can bring the lighting up to show it off and not "hide" it behind masses of dof

I'll look forward to see your updates - keep at it

Andy

just as an example - coincidence - I have been playing with a strat model

it's still at the "doodle" stage - hence the rather poor shadowing.
