by the way, i tried to model somethin low poly with the wheel/tread based movement and it was relatively difficult to make it look good and still be believable that it rolls on those things. just lettin you know -- but great concepts :] keep it up! ps. i like your gif :]

I think one of biggest difficulties is to make a real char form a robot, for example i think you are tending a bit for the vehicle side. I don't mean the wheels specificaly but the overall look of it.
yeah it looks too much like vehicles now and that isnt allowed...so i think you should consider some redesigns...
I think something like the "enemy robot in robocop" would suit you better :)

Vitor n bb0x, tnx dudes but I think you look wrong! just think what's a robot! your problem it is that you want see a robot or machine was right like human! but our topic is MACHINES not human-like-machines or even humans itself!! I saw most ppl gone for si-fi humans instead of machines! n I don't mind cause I dont know that these aren't aceptable but I know that it is alowed for sure about what you call vehicle!
btw it isn't a vehicle! it is just a movment system that used as a part of these machines! n no any more!! n even that it was, just one of my four concept have a non-human-like moving system! n others as you see have exactly foots n hands!! :dunno: btw tnx again n hope I can say my mean truly! ;)

pesonaly I like Extra Height Jumper is verrry original an unique, I did't saw other like that in movies or drawings ...
but how he kill ? ... it hit them with the uper part ?
I think this is cool to have an 10tones robot that jump in the air and then smash the blood out of them :) ... and the oponents I think will become verry fritened to see that huge beast jumping to them :evil: :evil: :evil:

like the idea, remember to place the ballance right, now I think he would jump backwards...unless that engine one the back will make him trust forward..
looking forward to 3d model, but dont stress the model before you realy decided on the design, more time on the concept, the less work and questioning it will be for the 3dmodel. :)

Great model, really creative and nicely optimized, i find it a little visually humurous, mostly in the running poses which i love, based on how it looks at the moment hopefully they will not judge the models on intimidation.

I'm really liking this design and the knee caps\guards make it look like a more stable machine but I dont think the spikes really go with the over all design. just a little crit.

Nice original model, feet seem a little to simplistic when based off the rest of the model. I absolutely love the hands and torso. Gun looks cool but not something I would see this machine slinging. Now if you made it a double barrel and changed the wood to chrome and gave him two of them then I would be intimidated. ;)

Hey mim, very nice war machine, of course :). I love the entire design. So you have 24 triangles . . . make some small screws or boxes/cylinders and put them on somewhere just to add some details. Keep up the quality of your work. Good luck with texturing. . .

Hey man.
This last version has really grown on me...The one thing I would say that confuses\concerns me with the design is the knee-cap skulls...They kinda don't fit with all the other clean shapes and I think they kinda distract and detract from a really unique and interesting design....
P.S. Really loving the map thingy...

The 2 things from uper part is a binoculars ? ... he look on the back side and see from front ?...if is that, I think for shure the device have lot of magnify and he see far far away :)

tnx buddy ;) it is'nt binocular btw cauese he didn't need it! these are tow strong guns! :D n it isn't a little gun too! it's just abit biger than main character! so you see tow motor jets insides of it to help EHJ-30 keepin it easily! :D n there is a machinegun also :D
I will explain the concept more later with an update on maping! probably a uw test or so! :/

but if it's not a bioncular, how he see in front ? ...maybe U cood put an camera in midle between the 2 big guns and an lcd screen in the back of the gun :D

yea hammering it is a LCD screen on back of weapon but with no analogue camera! it uses some radar technologies to find objects behind anything! :D

I work a lot on z-brush (for first time!) and achieve good results but when I export it as *.obj, max can’t import it! :cry: so I decide to make details in max as possible! :dunno: here is the result atm, n I grab a n-map test also and it’s good too sofar, I’ll work on weapon more n hope complete details today or tomorrow, then is robot turn! ;)

If you wan't to import .obj's into max make sure that what you are importing is less than 500000 poly's otherwise max will crash, if your model has more polys than this which is quite likely try exporting your model in parts, then if you like you can allways reattach the parts in max. It seems to me like you have allready solved your importing problem but i was just mentioning this in case. Anyway the model is looking great and i too love the big mama of a gun.

I dunno really WHAT happened?! I just has workin on it n suddenly this damned thing happened! Something like you remove one edit poly modifier bottom of one you’re workin on! You know what happen! All things changed! Every thing goes wrong! My God! Really nonsense! When I back on my previously saved backups, they were all in same way! :crazy:, I lost all works of half of day!
Thought it caused by max, because files that I was saved before it damned thing, are in same way! All crashed! Tnx to god, it’s just in one part! :dunno:

I would have to say that although the detail you have recently added is really impressive from an artistic point of view, i can't see much practical purpose in it. I do however suggest that you continue to add this leval of detail to the rest of the model now, it would look odd now if you did not do so. Well done for doing such a great artistic job. Can't wait to see it finished.
Tnx buddy :), but I don’t understand your mean truly! I have many back-ups of this model in several levels of progress! So every time I want, it’s possible to back on em! (removing details!)
I really like to know how these details looks on others eye?! Are you like the simplest one? (About practical purposes, just don’t worry, it’s a robot n full of wires n several parts) so just say what you think about whole of this as a robot?! What you suggest?! Simplest or one high detailed?!

Being perfectly honest i think that your model looks more practical without all of the surface detail (they remind me of Aztec temple wall art detail). I think that regarding the judging criteria the details won't help. If you are looking to impress people with your art (you may also be looking for work through this competition?), i think that you should add the details as they display more artistic and 3d ability. Good luck with getting responses and making your decision.

Definately continue on the details! It will give this fine piece of metal a soul. It may be more artistical than practical, but hey what is it that counts in the long run when it comes to gameart(if we count in that the model worked properly from the start)? Looks! What makes the Strogg race what they are, looks! What makes the tyranid so freakin awesome, looks! And what makes that big wierd cyclop in supreme commander so damn cool despite the question if it's actually necessary to build an unstable tall mech when you can simply have it as a solid tank that wouldn't tilt if it got hit by a fatboy on a slope? You got my point, LOOKS!
This robot is very interesting and wouldn't hurt if it got more interesting, so I vote for detail! :D

Well, it's rather a suggestions from my part how it should be. But it could be cool to have some incorrect english in it. It's more comical. :)

0202742, it’s not a plug-in it’s simply a text! on Max n on shape section you can find it, then just apply an Extrude or Bevel modifier to it! ;)
btw by now I’m working on UWs for robot, I’m almost finished it! :D
