GAHH!! :wall:
I keep on changing my concept... I don't know why I can't focus on one. I've never done any robotic stuff before so when I check everyone else's out, it just looks so good, then I look at mine... and I say to myself I can do better. So lets see where this takes me...

Alritghy... so i think I'm going to do like a Cyborg Sharp Shooter.. with a nice big gun... to snipe those polycounters... cgtalkers and chatters!
Sounds promising.
I've done two drawings, but they both suck, need to rest my brain for a bit and just gather ideas/opinions i guess. Keep going tho i like your idea!

Definatly hugely inspired by Ghost In a shell... It's going to be something along those lines I think. I'm concepting right now... have a couple of ideas i'm trying to work out.

Well guys and girls, I'm pretty sure this competition is in the bag, I believe we have already won this war!
My entry took very long to do, but I think it was well worth the time spent. I really like it cause the normal projects on the low poly perfectly, no distortion is found at all. I also like how the texture looks on it, I didn't want to go crazy, but i still wanted to capture the cyborg feel.
Tell me what you think!

I think he already did, it just that the lighting is off a bit. Use the default scan line to render instead of that fansty mental ray you got going on now.
OMG!...that cyborg looked really frightening man....I thought it was gonna kill me....But then I wondered...I am a cyborg to and we are on the same side so why would he...But it still scared me....
I wouldnt want to be fighting that on the battlefield *shrugs*

Nice work there! I can clearly see the amount of work and patience you've put in to the project. I also like the idea, very original and fresh! With a cyborg like this you gonna kick some major butts!

See i KNEW the lighting was off, thanks man for pointing that out. It took me almost 6 hours to render this baby out (I woke up really early) so it's gonna take me another 6 or so to get a new render, hopefully you guys will like it better :)
I will post some of my sketches today for my "real" cyborg.

lol, funny post Jason. I look forward to seeing the concepts you come up with. I think having a hint of GTS would be cool. I have a few basic ideas for my character. Going to work on some sketches tonight. I look forward to seeing all of the ideas people come up with. Many paths, one goal my friends: The destruction of polycount, cgchat, and cgsociety!

Jason, if your "real" model is even half as good as your first one, then I quit now.
As for the destruction part, we should focus on polycount first, as they are the returning champs, plus, most of their followers have turned tail and ran away. Then when polycount is done for, we will pollywhoop cgchat. The other site, we need not worry.

Heh, robots have their advantages. Why not design an organic character, then 'robotise' it if that makes it easier for you?

NAAAH... he he
I'm gonna ditch that last concept, I think I want to go with something with more mass... I don't know, need some inspiration.

I sketched it out on paper, then put it into illustrator and just had my way with it :)
The proportions are a bit messed up, but I'll fix that once I get started modeling :)

I'm the same way myself Jason, I often find myself looking for the scale and move tool on my pencil when i'm drawing.

Alrighty all, here we go... I need to do a bit more planning, but i'm basically done concepting, and I did a quick easy to follow model sheet so at least I have some sort of guide. I fixed the proportions a bit more so they actually work, but hey, you never know, I may go all weird out on this one... or figure out a way I can make this super realistic, I haven't quite figured that out yet.
Anyways, here we go... ENJOY!
* changed concept once again, look at front page for details.

The eye is from gaming Artists... i think they are calling it Rogue Artisans or something. Basically means I am a member of GamingArtists.com and showing my support for them :)

nice conept.only thing i would change is the legs.you have a thickness to the waist/pelvic area and the calves, maybe play around with making the legs thinner to give a stylistic contrast.
