So far i only have vague ideas but once i get one on paper i'll post it asap. I'm thinking of trying to make the form of my character quite inhuman rather than one of the typical bypedal mechs etc. i believe that if a race of mechanical beings hated the existance of humans and other biological entities it would try to distance itself from them visually.

Okay so I know I said I was going to stear clear of bipeds but once I started this guy I couldn't think of an better way to structure him than bipedal :cry: but thems the breaks. Bipedal robots still look cool anyway. I was thinking of giving him a cockpit, that was all torn up and have a dead/mutilated pilot inside, like it was a mech that once it became self-concious the first thing it did was rip open the cockpit and kill the human desecrating its insides.... so anyway I don't think I'll use that idea so someone else can use it if they wish. This guy is still a long way from where I want him to be (need to add lots of detail) but I thought I should get you guys to give me some feedback before I get too attached.

I call this guy abaddon. and if anyone has any ideas for the head or legs please feel free to make a suggestion because those parts are evading my grasp. I normally work with organic subject matter so this is a bit out of my realm.

So, if it's an artillery mech(thats at least what it looks like) You could also go with treads.

I'm going for artillery and close combat (haven't thought of a hth weapon yet though) basically he can bombard a place then run in and clean up the leftovers. I felt that treads would be too imobile for close quarters.

Looks brilliant, why dont you go with what you said before and that part where you see a bashed part of its hull, where it hit its own cockpit pilot to kill the human inside it.Oh man, i read that and i could just see it. the pilot mutilated and his/her flesh dangling down. that was really something cool that you said. other than that so far it looks really good.
