Heard Old' Pistol Head came into town a few nights ago. They said he put down ten of the sheriffs men in one night. Can't say I'm not surprised. He's a cold blooded killer, that Pistol Head. Ain't noth'in on this earth faster at drawing a gun, then Old' Pistol Head.

you could always find an image host, and use the img tag. i suggest photobucket.com, as they have no pop ups and linking is easier.

Cool concept, it's very different than the ones we've had before, and that's a good thing, variety is the spice of life - and it means our army has more ways to kill the meatbags

Hey man....
I don't wish to be a spoil-sport but I knew I'd seen this before. I think it's against the rules to just use other people's concept work without them being credited and definitely against the rules to use concepts not done specifically for this competition....

Sorry....

Lord Rancid - im not using another persons concept work. all the sketches were done by me. i've based them on kobiyashi's work, but no plagiarism(1) has occured. I even posted the reference(2) sketch on this page. It's under Original sketch.
1.plagiarize - to take ideas, writings from another and pass them off as one's own
2.reference - use or consultation to get information, as an aid in research
Hey man, I'm not looking to get into a dispute with you over this... I'll let other people be the judge of what you are doing rules wise (though if you are just using the original sketch as reference, why did you remove the artist's name? And how do your sketches\designs differ from the original if you are only using it for reference inspiration?) ...My only issue is that most of us here have poured a lot of time and effort (busy days and sleepless nights) into our creations so far, no matter what our skill level, and I don't like the thought of ANYTHING that might cheapen all our entries in the eyes of the judges and the other forums.....

Now that Lord Rancid mention it.... The "Original SKetch" has a nice 'blotched, painted- over area over the sketch's date/name >:\
Also the sketches are way too similar to the original's...

new update:
think i'm finished with the lo res. both guns are sitting at 500 poly precise, so the rest will be up to the normal.;) im calling the coming week "hi res week".

Seems to me there are lots of polys wasted for details which are actually subtle enough to be done with the normal maps.

Decided to change my concept a bit. Feelings are that if a couple of people on threedy might think i was copying another work, even though it's a rendition, then there could be some judges that feel the same. So here below is my new concept for the competition. please mind the crazy colors.:)

Agreed. your rendition looked similar & may cause confusion & stuff. I like where the new concept is heading. Can't wait to see it in 3d ;p

hey, i'm looking for good Converter to change maya files to OBJ files. Which one is best? thnx

Maya should have a built in exporter. Instead of doing a save as, or save. Open your File menu and look for the export option. Then you just choose the file type you want.
I'm guessing you want to change over to an obj so you can take the mesh into another program, so when you do, be surte to import the obj, instead of trying to simply, open the file.

I would tweak/play with the characters pose, it looks very un-natural or off balanced to me at least.

needing some advice. I'm looking to get a tablet and have settled on a wacom intuos. question here, is which is the best size to look at? can i do ok with a 4x6?
BiG ToE-3DT
07-03-2007, 12:57 AM
well, you need to keep the price in mind as well as size. The 4x6 will get the job done, but the larger sizes will feel more natural when using it. Another thing, you might not like the feel of the tablet at all. Then you would have wasted your money.

well, "rendition" is a misleading term I think...
Your design is a dead ringer to Makoto Kobayashi's work...
Better hurry up with the new design and model!
