ae truta, valeu pelo comentário ;)

Well, my target is create a robot which has a workable structure like a real robot with tons of weapons/missiles. I'm not an enginner but I'm trying to do an enginner work! I think he is still too thin. I'll make him more fat, large, to give him a demolisher apearance.

I drew one more sheet with separate parts of the bot. Some changes were made, including a big cannon over his left shoulder to give him a power up:

Hope you like it!! I'll be posting a full body update later with some changes. Hope to have time to do a painted version too . . . thats all by now

Is that like a rocket launcher or somn going thru his left shoulder? :P
That's awesome overall.

Hehe...I think the cannon impact will not throw the bot back :P He is strong and heavy enough to support it...I hope :) Thanks for the comment ;)

Like the head design, has a strangly modern, yet retro look. Very interesting!

Ok, new design . . . totally different. I was not happy with that previous one, too robot like. It was tedious to draw the sketches :P, this is my last and final concept:

Thaks for commenting ;). I said the time would be enough but I think it will not be :( . Next week will be heavy at college for me, not sure if I'll have much time to work on this thing then, I'm not sure if I'll finish this thing. I'll try. I'm just posting a wip of my robot. I did not do much yet:

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y121/xissburg/x3dt_02.jpg

By now I have 3796 tris. I'm modelling a raw model and when I finish all the parts, I'll add small details and increase the details of some parts with the remaining tris. Then, after finished, I'll model the highpoly from this lowpoly to do normal mapping. Comments&sugestions are always welcome. Thats all, cya

Wow man!! the uv setup of this robot sucks! It tooks me the most of the time damn, and I did not have much free time all these days. I'll be finishing it today and start to paint the texture and try to finish it before deadline. I'll not have time to do normal mapping =( damn :( . . . :grr: :grr: :grr:

I'm not so experineced with ZBrush yet but I know it is really good for texturing. I'll be studying more ZBrush the next days...its a must to know how to work with it!

Finally I finished the crazy uv setup:

It's not bad for a first pass, you are going to do another pass on it and add sublte details and such right?

xissburg
25-03-2007, 04:30 AM
It isn't looking good this way only with the diffuse map. this is the texture:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y121/xissburg/x3dt_14.jpg

To get better results I would need at least a bump map, I think. Any suggestions?!

0202742
25-03-2007, 05:48 AM
Yeah i would use a bump map at least. I think the teeth look fantastic allready so i imagine that with a bump map they would look even better, would also help between the plates and inside his nostral are.

xissburg
25-03-2007, 09:02 AM
It seems better now. I rendered an Ambient Occlusion map and blended it with the diffuse map, added specular level map, bump map and glow map:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y121/xissburg/x3dt_15.jpg

Say what you think, thanks. . . Anyway theres no way for me to finish it before dead line :P but, I will not win even one cent if I finish it before dead line, right? Then, no problems. But I will finish it after dead line :)

Keep it up. it come out good.... the green and red color is un_friendly but it work good.

if you have time, why don't you put more curve on chin part...IMO.... good job..man

0202742
25-03-2007, 09:33 AM
If you are looking for work i would suggest getting something in for the deadline, even if you are not happy with it (you can allways go back to it later), then again i have had little luck finding work so maybe i am wrong. Looking forward to seeing the final result when you submit it anyway.

xissburg
25-03-2007, 09:34 AM
Thx for replying taehoon. If you look at the concept you'll see that the chin is not curved, and the 'green and red' you're talking is about the general colorscheme or about that red light on the green helmet?! Thanks and good luck with your Bigun, looking very nice, the your winning chances are Big! cya

And 0202742 I'm not looking for jobs right now, but if any arises, I'm in :). Maybe its a good idea to submit anything, just to submit :P . I'll try :). thanks

xissburg
25-03-2007, 08:18 PM
As suggested by 0202742 I will do what I can and submit anyway, the way it be. Just posting here to show my progress. Obs.: I did not sleep this night because of this model =O. yeah its true: I DID NOT SLEEP THIS NIGHT!! I'm crazy, huh . . . I've painted the base color of each part(there are some small parts to paint yet :) it seems it never ends =/ ) and added some details to anothers. I'll continue adding more details to it even the deadline comes :P

Uffs...I thought I would not be able to submit my finals. I submited it now, almost one hour after the deadline(I was too confuse about the deadline time and I am still confuse about it :s ). I did the last things too fast or I would not finish it then there are somethings that are not with the same quality of others in the texture hhehe...mainly the legs and the bazooKa. these are the my finals:

concept
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y121/xissburg/Concept.jpg

Today&yesterday I worked for fulltime with almost no stop  . The texture could be better if I had more time. And I almost didnot worked on the images above. When i was rendering the winning pose was the exact deadline time :P and I thought I would not be able to submit but fortunately they've given an extra time for submission :). and Wow! Just after type all this and look at the preview post I have seen that in the construction shot the bazooka is not appearing fully :P heheh damn

Thats all! thanks for everyone who helped me commenting and suggesting things and good luck for everyone!! cya on the next contest! bye
