I am rendering an animation with 4 cameras in 3ds Max 8. I have the Cameras all set up and have them written down such

Camera 1: Frames 0-159
Camera 2: 160-235
Camera 3: 236-473
Camera 4: 473-853

and need to render my animation out to a .MOV

Right now i am using Batch render, I overide the preset and put in what frames etc. Made sure the outpatch was right. But I dont think this is what the batch Render is for. Did I do it right? If so how do I do this? Is it possible or will I have to use just one camera?

Hello
The most flexible and best way of doing it imo, is 2 render out single frame image files, and then putting them back together in a program like Adobe Premiere or other similar video editing software.
Rendering into a single vid. file sometimes fail\freeze or other problems get in your way. When rendering single frames you get better control, and can cut from one camera to another as you feel like. And it offers you the chance to edit your frames if you need 2.
If you get rendering errors when rendering single frames, you only have to re-render the frames that have errors, not the entire animation.
