I will post to commence the Voting. Voting will be the same as last month with each voter putting forward their top 3 in order, 3pts for a 1st place, 2 pts for 2nd and 1 for 3rd. This means that will have to choose carefully! Feel free to give a reason for your choice as it will be good feedback for all of you!

1st place for Diabolos entry,as if we are talking about toony charachters that's the most toony

2nd place for AbhishekKr I really like that camel :D

3rd place for Shahin_fj really a good representation of what a humanized camel should be (i like especially the face)

still many other entries to talk about like the splendid work from khalid,but you have to admit that zbrush help a lot!! :D and also you are a too good artist to compete with :P

Honorable mention:
Hammering3D - I would have placed his feet on the ground and rounded the hump a bit more.
NeoGeo - Good job, maybe a bit more detail and a full shot of the character.
Mim - also greta feeling, love that tuft of wool on the hump, but maybe a bit more detail
capitan_popo - would have gone for some more defined wrinkles (sculpting), but I got the overall picture

Excellent work, really tough choice!

1. Khalid - flawless overall piece, could be a still from a blur animation!
2. Mr Lemon - great character you have captured.
3. Mim - A classic simple styalized piece - very nice work.

Hmm, dificult dificult dificult :o

I must chose between very amuzing and funny cartoon like models, and extreamly HI detailed and perfect artworks... :ugh:

So:

1st - mim (Really funny, simple but reconizable camel and with alot of character in it, when I see it just make me smile)

2nd - Diabolos (Nice model, perfect for an cartoon camel, have nice expresion, he look so bored :evil: , maybe if u work litle on boddy color, some diferante colors maybe an gradient or something to not look made from orange clay :roll:)

3rd - mr_lemon (I like the expresion and pose is funny, but I liked more u'r wip version, first cammel with babby face, it was verry cute and funny and not so complex like this one. This one is amazing model, verry detailed, nice textures, but I prefer more simple for stylization.)

I like to speek abut others work to:

andaz23 (I really like the face of that cammel, is verry funny, and what eliminate it from top 3 is that I think if I did't know is an cammel competition, I did't reconize what animal it is, I think it wood be nice to exagerate the hump on the back even is a baby camel)

Shahin_fj (nice models, nice details, like the expresion to, but prefer simplw funny cartoon like models, what put mr_lemon there and not U, hmm I love more that expresion...)

khalid (Amazing artwork, extreamly detailed, nice expresion, verry nice texture work, but for me is perfect for other competitions making and detailed caricature of an camel, and then u'll be on top place no questons about. :o)

diabolos wish I could have added mkore wrinkels too, but worked on it the last day before the deadline, since I got back from work till like 2 or 3, if I would have started earlier would have added mroe detail. With the eagle , I have laready started see how that comes out!

1 : diabolos : the best stylized one I think

Hello ;)!!

First,

I would say that it is interesting to see all these different impressions of this creature that lives in our back yards. Bahrain is my country, and the camels that the 3DTotal has put together for us to us as references for the illustrations are none other then our traditional ARABIAN camel. To Arabs, the middle eastern camel is like The kangaroos are to the Australians or like the Lion is to Africa or even like the Panda is to the Chinese , so we know how it looks, how it sits and how it moves....maybe an unfair advantage....

I would want to thank the 3DTotal team on all there effort to let people have the opportunity to study these amazing creatures... in a fun way... and giving something back to motivate all of us :)

To those that said that I am a professional, I hope that I didn't discourage anyone. I sometimes wish I would get the opportunity to work against big names myself because it adds to my knowledge and I am benefiting from their experiences. This would help make me a better artist that will grow in the industry. I never consider myself as better than anyone and I feel that everyone has done great work really...Good Job to all of you...

So without any more waiting, here are my votes:

1st mim: Nice!!! I wouldn't change anything except the double hump... Arabian camels have singles!!
2st Shahin_fj: Love it!! just work on the pose a bit more, and randomize texture.
3st Diabolos: Nice character! I would just change the Palms to the Arabian ones and clouds would make it finished!!


Everyone else... Amazing effort, I wish I am allowed to choose all of you... & you have all put in time and effort that's good for your growth as artist... I am still learning my self ;)

N about the poll idea I think it have some issues like that ppl can vote themselves n non clear votes too! So might cause much problems! Yeah! I read all of these making of’s warin, n really some great n useful tips there are, one thing most interesting for me is the fact that we become more familiar with other ppl here, n also a cooool thing is seeing different ways contestants choose for a unique topic.
In one word it’s just an amazing amazing magazine! Really useful for myself; about other articles as I read almost up to half of it so far, the article about creator of “Bad to the bone” (I can’t remember his name right now!) is my favorite :D, n also one about the project of hunting underwater swimming ships, really great!
I wonna appreciate to giving the chance to read it for meself, and it is really an honor for me to contribute alil in may issue,
Atlast let me say the fact that artists can introduce themselves in this great mag, encourage em to do better n better works for it n it helps to improve whole abilities of all contestants more n more I thought, :D

I have a question if you all read the moutones (swiming sheeps underwater) article on march issue of "3dcreative"!
as you see they use postproduction works to create all that nice results out of just simple scanline renders, including underwater grasses, volumetric lights n blobs!
But my question is about grasses! How they made em in after fx really?! hmmm... or it is just a diffrent pass that didn't showed on makin of?!
anyway it's really inspire me, really like to see it! :D
