I've used Maya a lot in the past, but decided I liked Max better.
And now I have to use Maya again, and it is horrible. I've forgotten what everything does. I'm sure it's a really good program, but I need to reprogram myself towards Maya again, so has anyone got a good tutorial for converting yourself?? :D Maya seems smooth, but Max is so quick!
I'm having confusion over things like setting viewports to front/back/perspective, etc. really simple, foundation stuff.
Polygon editing!? Christ!

It's all coming back to me now! I'm starting to like it again.

I salute all you Maya users out there, you have my utmost respect ... this program is a nightmare.

Nah, stick with max.. It would be too difficult to get yorself patched up for Maya again..
What is it exactly that you need in Maya? Any specific effect you canīt acheive?
If you really canīt afford sticking with Max, Iīd suggest start off with modelling tutorials at www.3d-palace.com ... Video tutorials :D
Good luck

well for the view port thing its simple if you have maya 7 or higher you can use the coordinate icon on the top right of the perspective view to change the views to back bottom and so on, but for the other views you can use the menu in each view port to change the default views. just go to view>predefined bookmarks and there you can choose the view you want.

I had a little project over a couple of days, and had to be done in Maya. Bit of a rush to learn it again!! Finished now though!!

Max! I love you!
