Max and Brazil. The original guitar has a quilted maple top and a teal/green clear coat but I applied the paint scheme that I painted on my B.C Rich (in real life.)

Hmm... first of all.. great modeling! It's perect!:o I'm playing guitar myself, but my english is not quite well. Anyway thay wooden part, that you play on needs some more texture work, much more dirty... your guitar look so clean, that almost unreal, getting that stylized kind of look, but if you like it to be this way, than i't great work....
Maybe some dramatic lightening woulb be nice, to give your guitar some chcracter... right now it's not alive, just standing right there, waiting dor you to play it... ;)

Thanks Chris. What's funny is I had to post it here because I wasn't getting any feedback in the WIP section.:)

P.S. I tend to keep my guitars very clean but the lighting could be better.

Very nice texture on the body. I guess itīs from the "S serie" .

Somthings I think you should improve.

I looks like thereīs no screws on the lock nut unit. And just above it is a woden texture. I think that part should be black =)

And i think the pick up ring should be more tight to the pick up.
And last: the tremolo need more work, the machine heads are to thin and the top is not accurate.

Otherwise Itīs great. Iīm looking forward to see more pictures

Maybe people don't reply as much in the WIP because they think that the defaults they see, you see too. When you call a work finished it's then that people say: that's not finished, 'cause that part doesn't look good! But most of us forget we don't see the faults in our own work. People always tell me things i didn't notice. Next time i post something in the WIP i'll say something like: "well this looks finished to me! what do you think?" Just as an experiment. :p

just a thought.....

by the way, i think the specular on the head shouldn't look so blurred. Guitars tend to verry glossy (i say think cause i'm looking at two guitars hanging on my wall. I haven't cleaned them in a year and they're still glossy! One is an Ibanez TR series and the other one a Samick that looks like the one Robert Smith uses, with the f-holes an' everything. I should try to model that one cause it looks nice! But again that's me rambling on. I really should stop now)

Also the metal tuning knobs don't look right, the texture needs more work.

Finally some crits!! LOL!

synkronizer: Thanx for the comments. Concerning the gloss of the head: There is no gloss on the head material. It must be a reflection from the HDRI. And the tuning heads are the same chrome as all the other parts. Either it's reflecting something or it's not. Kinda hard to make chrome look more "chromey?"

I will do some other renders with better lighting etc. and see if it helps those issues.

You should model one of your guitars. It was fun!:)

Thanx Trevorn.

Wass: You're right about the pickups. They should be a bit bigger and you're right about the black part above the nut. My locking nut has allen screws which are on the model (those 3 round things.) Maybe they should be bigger.

I'm sure you already know this but Floyd Rose makes numerous models of tremolos and you may be thinking of a different model. You can't buy a stock Ibanez with this paint scheme. Like I said, this is a copy of one I painted on a B.C. Rich "Bitch."

You reminded me that I forgot to make the truss cover!! LOL!

Nice guitar! ~ I have an oooooold guitar that I got at a pawn shop around 17 years ago but I forget the make...it's a no name. Two pickups, no tremolo, 3 knobs; vol, bass, treb.

It had a factory sunbusrt finish but I hated it, so I sanded it down and painted it black and glued some of my art on it...(wolverine on back, tardis on front, etc...)

It had problems with a bad neck and the strings are too high off the fret board. It's a piece of crap but it plays.

I also took a look at your site. Great stuff there!
BTW, the "heads will roll" link is bad...leads back to the ibot.

Those water droplets look real!

On the Lockheed F-16, did you model the interior of the cockpit along with the pilot? I'd love to see some pics of that too.

The Palace Project seems a little sterile though.

Nice guitar! Maybe I should try modelling a guitar myself. Would be fun to have a digital copy of my BC Rich Ironbird =)

loboloco: Thanx. I'm going to re-do my website soon and remove the palace to make room for more stuff. It was one of my first 3D works. Regarding the f-16, there's a thread about it in the WIP section somewhere.

Caine: You should model your guitar!

Edit: I fixed that link on my site. Thanx for the info, lobo.
