Here's a piece I did in Computer Art II. I was really suppose to be working on my final 2D piece but I'm lost as to what I should do so I did a quicky. About 1 hr and 10 min in Photoshop.

i see some good ones here...:). nice angle yoyomom.
hello justGTA...welcome to the forum...:). are these all painted or have u used pics and applied filter over them? in that case, they dont fit in here, here u have to paint from scratch, u can look at pictures/references, but what u submit has to be all painted by yourself.
please go thru the Rules here:

all the best...:).

I used pics an I painted over them, after I used combustion for the color manipulation..
I'm going to paint something 100% by myself...

Hi,
First time at these forums, saw the challenge and figured I would have a go for kicks.
Some great stuff already posted, so went for something a little different. Took an ant's eye view of a rainstorm. :)
Took a couple of hours using PS CS2 and a Wacom tablet.

I dont get it...explain please?
Just about everybody is using the noise filter with motion blur to create the rain.
imo we should try to move away from filters.....I mean you are trying to mimic a real life painting in some way...so why use filters?....The noise+motion blur doesnt even look good imo....i mean f it is obvious that filters are used...than imo the artist hasnt tried hard enough.
but on the other hand....its about the final image and the feeling it gives...
So do whatever you guys want to :)
M_Cederstrom

sorry, to ask guys but what does IMO stand for, some one please tell.

On the contrary, I feel that if the tool is there, why not use it. Trying to draw every rain drop, I think, is kinda ridiculous b/c not only is it going to take a long time, it's probably going to have a large vary in stroke size and curve, resulting in what I think to be more newbish.

Not a fan of custom brushes or filters myself. Its always better to practice ur skills painting it urself it'll pay off in the long run. :)

Awesome rodriguez, I love the dual lightsourse, and the edge/ light effect makes it almost like your looking through a rain soaked window. very much a fan of the composition aswell.

I agree with Rodriguez. I'll see if I will have some time for another one. Without filters and stuff. If not I'll go with my last one. "Rainstorm in gray" :)

some nice stuff in this thread, already. haven't painted anything in a while, so I had to jump in.
this probably would have turned out better if I spent more time on it. but I just kind of stopped working because it felt like it wasn't going anywhere.
anyway, here's my attempt at a rainstorm.

some very cool entries...great going...:). what i like the most are the colors, most of them are very appropriate according to the topic. smart use of palette i say...:).
DeadRockBoy, sure u can use filters as well as brushes of various sorts. but it would be good if u show and develop your painting skills and remember your painting skill would be more appreciated and gives u more points/marks...:).
nucron, thats good, it got a stong feel of a rainstorm.
lovely entries folks. all the best....
