Nice work, the plants look very real.
It's kind of wierd tho, how you have very long grass, and very short grass. Maybe you should remove the grass from the ground and put sand instead.

Thanks for the suggestion. I was actually hoping it come across more as moss but I guess not, huh?? Thanks again for the reply, I appreciate it. I had heard some good things about this forum but only one reply...........hmmm. -- thanks again! dano

Nice work, I like the mushroms... and the grass too, but i think you can take off the little one too.

I agree as to the grass and i also think the mushrooms are too Euclidian. They should be more irregular, less perfect at the top, more lopsided as mushrooms go. And the bumpmap is to stony, perhaps it should be a bit yellowish, and blurred.

Maybe their "stoned". OK, it was lame. Yea, I thought that too but havn't gotten around to changing it yet. That's why I post in the forums, to get excellent feedback like this. Thanks so much! -- dano

All lame-ass joking aside, how do you recomend I make them look more "mushroomy"? Does the bump need to come down a bit? More dirt? What would do the trick?? TIA -- dano

The mushroom texture needs to be more blurry and irregular.
To make the moss look more mossy, I suggest making the strands, or whatever, even smaller and have them curve even more so the tips are pointed down. Then try to make it more... fuzzy. Okay, I have no idea how to make it fuzzy, but that's what you gotta do. :)

For the moss, try putting some black and browns in there too.

Dan, I think it looks great as a cartoony style, but if you want more realism then, as others have suggested add a little irregularity to the mushrooms. As far as textures go, same thing. Mushrooms always seem to be on the verge of rotting, so you may want to dirty up the texture a bit. But only if your going for more realism.;)

Good to see you on 3D Total.

It's a kind of mushroom that induces halucinations when eaten. "Magic Mushrooms"
