What's up guys, the past 2 months i've been studying up on how to create some really cool particle effects and visual effects using particle flow in 3DS Max. I know alot of it is cryptic to people who haven't tried it or who are unfamiliar with it, but the learning curve is really quite simple.

anyways, what i had in mind is sharing some of my techniques that i've come up with that may be praticle to the 3d community

Keep in mind these will be advanced tutorials that will require knowledge with render engines and modeling and materials. Alos Video Post knowledge will be required, but i will cover that for some of the tutorials.

Things i plan on covering

Energy Balls
Particle Based Fire
Particle Materials
Explosions (better than the PArray ones lol)
Magical Effects
Dust, Dirt, Smoke
Fireworks (although there is already one on the site, i like mine better)
Combining particles effects with Video Post to get some really cool results using lens glow.

Keep in mind alot of the tutorials around the site have to deal with cool stuff like smoke trails and clouds use third party programs that some of us dont have access to... these tutorials will be focused on "in house" tools, so to speak.

Anyways... ifor the first tutorial i'm going to think of something that's really basic that deals with alot of the fundamentals of P-Flow. Stay tuned...

Here's a link to a simple effect that i created in about 30 minutes of work (quality of vid is low)

hey all, i spent some time last night making the energy ball effect and taking lots of pictures (stuff is more tedious than i would have thought lol)....

according to guidelines i have to post some pics of what i want to show you guys/girls how to create so the higher ups can discuss it and let me know what else i have to include... so here we go.

These are 2 different camera angles, one for the main charge, and the other to see the travel.

So far the tutorial includes the following:

-How to create basic particle life materials
-How to set up a Pflow with more than one birth event
-Several basic Pflow Operators
-Lense Glow using Video Post
