--Unknown property: "brightness" in undefined
I get this everytime. I start a new scene. I set it up, use bluecherry I dont touch the brightness or do. save the scene "close" max and when I come back and start max to the scene and start up bluecherry I get the error. If I close the scene and keep max running and reopen the scene its fine. Only after I close max and reopen it is when I get the error. I just click ok and continue with the scene. And if i go to the brightness property and try to use it I get the error again. I click ok again and from there anything I click on and use in the Special effects rollout I get a binging sound. Im using Max9 service pack 2 with prod. booster.

Thanks in advance
DAle

I've been able to replicate this problem with the patch I sent you to handle the productivity booster. I tracked it down to an artifact of the code I put together to handle the productivity booster, and cannot be resolved without heavy reworking of v1.5 code. :xx:

I hope this doesn't sound like I'm blowing you off, because I care about your situation a lot. You have been especially patient with me as I work to put together version 2. Allow me 2-3 more weeks to solidify the v2 alpha with my lead tester. From there, I'll forward you the Beta to install and run. While it won't be perfect right away, I'm building it to run on Max9 builds natively so that these incompatibility issues are far less likely.

I can get you version2 to work with in Beta by the end of August.

just a quick note,

I also get this error popping up :(

using MAX 8 at the moment and can't really upgrade to 9 cause we use 8 at university and my files would be incompatible :(

BlueSummers - you say that your writing V2 to run nativley in max 9, does this mean that it won't work for Max 8 users?

thanks for the great work

Owen

I'm currently in the process of moving back into college, and communication is very difficult.
Yes! I will try my absolute best to make the plug-in backward compatible for Max8 users. However, Autodesk made it delightfully hard to produce working products for it's now many, many versions. Max8 requires different code than 3dsMax9 32-bit, 3dsMax9 64-bit, and 3dsMax9 32 or 64 bit for Vista instead of XP.

More to follow. Now that I'm unpacking into my empty, empty room, I should be able to work through a few last bugs and get some more respectable beta testing going.

As promised, it is now September and I have a Beta test in full swing. The product works for installations of WinXP, 32-Bit, on 3dsMax 9 with or without the Productivity Booster, and WinXP, 32-Bit, on 3dsMax 8.

I have not tested it for Vista or 64-bit machines, but I expect there to be some heavy resistance because of ActiveX controls. More on that to follow.

I'll send you an E-mail, Rog, regarding a Beta version of BC2. If anyone else has Vista or a 64-bit machine and would like to test, please contact me at BlueSummers@cmu.edu!
