nice light effects. I some how never get this type of effects, mebbe am missing sth. trivial but I 'd like to know how you did it.
Personally I like the concept, but I'd work more on the hands for a really dramatic impact. esp. the thumb and index.

One might think that that is a pic of someone doing Pyrokinesis. I like the fireball, but the hands look a little wierd, what is the effect on the hands? though They are still good too.

Wow, very cool light effects. It kind'a reminds me of an energy ball form dbz. Though I must say the hands look strange to me but they still look cool.

Peter Hutton

Thanx.
And now without meshsmooth.
Did you model them by yourself ?

jmarhoon
12-04-2003, 07:04 AM
Yes of course I model it ...

Why you keep asking strange questions, from what you say, you seem wanna tell me that i'm not the one who design it ??

I spend 3 weeks to model it

Peter Hutton
14-04-2003, 05:35 AM
Composising and modelling are two VERY different things.
If you DID model them by yourself, why canīt you just show me the unsmoothed wireframe models ?
Just a snapshot and thatīs it.

jmarhoon

Peter Hutton

Jmarhoon IS using poser hands.
Learn to model your own, not using premade objects.
Always remember to notify IF youīre using other objects than youīve made.
Iīcould never claim a work as of my own if I were using someone elses meshes.
Shame on you.

From the first time, I saw your picture in the left side of my monitor, I said that you are a man that don't want the good things to the others.

and you have nothing to do except to keep talking about nothing. you can just ask me did you model it or not ? and I think I replied to you that I model it, and I didn't even use poser in my whole life.

Anyway, I will keep working with my designs and will not listen to the bad guys like you. It will not reflect anything if I used other guys models, if they allow the public to use it as their own design.

I'm sorry, I will not reply to your posts anymore "Peter Hutton"

yup, reeks of poser.

Unsmoothed wire would be nice, but until then verdict -> poser

I don't see why people keep posting poser work it's not as if it's hard to tell.

If it turnes out it's not poser -> My humble apologies :)

Peter Hutton
23-04-2003, 06:43 AM
Whatever.
Why do you deny the facts mister ?

Incitatus, thatīs right.
This "modeller" is somewhat unusual & gifted man.
A person whoīs modelling hands with this amount of detail using ONLY tri-sided polygons has to be a very determined.
And achieving distinctive Poser look in purpose or not, is a true sign of a true natural talent.
Or in the other hand, it could be that this guy works in Curious Labs team, so in that case he actually really modelled these hands.
Buuuut even in that case that doesnīt apply since poser meshmodels are not modelled but laserdrum (roto) scanned from a real persons.
Perhaps he was in the rigging team *sarcasm*.

Since you donīt want to answer me never again, listen:

MODELLING IS SOMETHING YOU CREATE FROM A SCRATCH.
YOUR VERY OWN PERSONAL MODEL.
IīVE DONE TRADITIONAL ARTS 2D, GRAPHICS,OIL, ACRYL, 3D for ALMOST TEN YEARS , IīVE HAD DOZENS OF EXHIBITIONS.
IF ONE HAS ONCE LOSTīS ITS CREDITABILITY , IT`S LOST FOREVER.
Thatīs the way it is.

PS.

Why would I want bad things to others ?
But then again, someone once said Iīm a harsh man, but righteous.

PPS. Youīre banned too. Everytime you try to display your "personal" art, Iīll be there, if thereīs a reason, that is.

PPPS. BTW, Iīve purchased/upgraded the Poser series from v. 1.0
up to the v.4.2 so i MIGHT have a clue what Iīm talking about.

PPPPS. The jazeera logo was neat. Didnīt like colours though.

Hehe, peter hutton is completely right! But DAMN, that avatar of yours is butt ugly! (Peter hutton)... Is it james hetfield? Argh, he's the poser :p

But anyways, all you'd have to do was to show of some unsmoothed wires and we'd all believe you! Quite lame to say that, "hey, this is my image", kinda like saying, "hey, you see that tree outside? My work!" when it's actually God or the Nature or whatever...

I also noticed that in image 3 you haven't made the hands longer so that there are edges on the arms in the render...

Never have I seen such mud slinging on this forum.
This is nice place where 3D enthusiasts enjoy each others ideas and inspirations, please do not muddy it with your holier than thou attitudes. What if the poor guy used poser and said it was his??? I'd say he was simply hiding his insecurity, and Mr.Peter Hutton "greatest genius of art for the past 10 years" experience I've seen brings maturity and tolerance, surely you have a vast reservoir of these too, I'd suggest you use it once in a while and put up some of your "great art" for all of us to enjoy. Stop pulling legs of others.
Please keep your egos and diffrences from polluting the great atmosphere of this forum.

Incitatus
23-04-2003, 06:34 PM
You have a point shauryashaurya but the fact that he maintains that he modeled the hands from scratch when it looks very VERY much like poser and has not posted a unsmoothed wire even after he said he would simply makes one suspicious. And breeds an atmosphere of suspicion.

There are many people here that make excellent pieces and also use poser, and when they use poser they mention it.

If someone uses poser but claims not to, that is the bad thing. What's next; I do some post work on a Jeb image and call it mine?

Amusing indeed.
Iīm tired and bored to this conversation.
If jmarhoonīs still claiming (as he does) that he DID model those hands, so be it.
Everybody knows that thatīs not the case, so what can I do ?
The credits should still go to the ones who really have deserved it, the HARDWORKING, no freeloadinī boys of CuriousLabs Inc.

But hey, got to go roasting little children and torture the neighbors dog.
Just for the fun of it.

Evil is as evil does.

guys ...

this is turning out to be a fun forum. lol :)

anyway a tip for "jmarhoon":

Try to do something which makes use of your creativity and your hard work. I have been seeing your posts and all ur works are tooooo simple.

and 1 more thing . if u have really modelled those hands , y dont u show them a mesh model ??? it would keep them quite that time. what say peter hutton ? :)

I'm sorry guys, I did lie to you when I said that I model the hand by myself. I did some models, and I will tell you the truth the I get this hand from the internet as an 3DS format, and I don't know if it is for poser or not.

I always start my models by viewing the others models, and start modelling by getting new ideas from their ideas, I'm very shy to say this, but I want to say one thing that "I'm not a good modeller, but I'm a good imaginer and add effects to the objects" .

I can see the whole model in my head, but I can't model it exactly as it is in my head, I can feel the objects, I can see them flying, moving dancing, and any effects you want I can feel it with any object.

My Imagination comes from lestining to the rock music while modelling, the music gave me all the power of imagination, This what I can say now .

I'm sorry about this lie, and I give you a promise, that I will do the good things to you all, even if I used someone model I will say that it is not my model.

Sorry again, hope that everyone will forgive me .

haha, lol lol lol!:D

nice to see you finally come forward with the truth jmarhoon. This took u quite some courage after all this s***, respect for that.
don't put your self down cause of bad modeling skills. no 1 is born with good modeling skills. those skills are learned through practice and hard work. what is of importance, is that u have an artistic vision and good imagination, everything else is technical stuff, some1 correct me if im wrong. so if u have those, like u meantioned above that u have, go practice the technical side!

btw. i think u could send Hutton a pm and apologize. i know he was harsh, but u were an ass to him even though he was right.
keep working hard and good luck
x

Yes, xeltestic is completely right!
Well, there are 2 reasons to come to this forums.

1. one is to show your work to everyone.

2. one is to learn modelling skills! Correct me if I'm wrong, but i think it's one of the reasons why these forums exist! To help people learning the artwork!

Well, look at my modelling skills when I came in here, and look at them now! I'm still not perfect, but I got lots better!

Ahem! kudos for the courage to come out with the truth.
sorry Peter Hutton if the words were harsh.
I agree with xeltestic and
Rinne.

you owe an apology to peter hutton too.

Everyone has to learn somewhere!

I mean, I downloaded a stealth jet (3ds format) put it in bryce, applied a glass texture to it and put in a standard bryce mountain with a standard bryce sky!. :o

I have to say very big kudos to you for owning up.

Guys, you have some problems...!
Ok, there was someone who used a Poser model and said it was his. But finally he told the truth. Great respect for this btw. I guess I'd simply said that I accidentally deleted the file, had to format the HD or something like this. But he told us the truth.
Peter, it seems like you got some knowledge of this, then please, please share with all of us, cuz we all want to learn.
Jmarhoon, why don't you simply start another model and post it in the WIP section? I'm curious if I can help.
