I have a problem in Maya 4.0 Unlimited. I have created a head mesh and an ear mesh. I put the ear next to the head and combine. At this point, I can still convert the polygons to Subdiv. However, the moment I try to merge a vertice on the ear with on on the head, I can no longer convert it to subdiv. I've gone into the subdiv settings and change Max Faces to 3000 and the other option to 64. These do not fix the problem. Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this.
