So I rented a dvd recently of some past Boston Legal episodes.
And I noticed that the tv screen would go from bright to dark throughout the shows. Is this some sort of copy protection or is my dvd player dying?:(
I also noticed this on a game trailer of Assasins creed that I downloaded.
As far as a rented dvd goes ...can it be disabled if you purchase the dvd?
Or is this strictly a feature that is on "rented" dvd`s.
Thanks...:):)

question, what type of DVD player is it and how do you have it setup?

If your using one of those old school Tv's that doesn't you RCA cables then you will be screwed.

Example, if you are using a playstaion/xbox or any dvd player and its hooked up to a VCR or one of those rca converters, it will work for awhile, but as time goes by, the system gives out. It will start flashing from dark to light. Soon, it will stop working altogether.

well it`s not the tv because it would be doing it all the time:)
the dvd is a sony about 8 months old.And there`s a red -white -yellow cables that go direct into the tv.
It only has happened on dvd`s of tv shows from blockbuster video store.
And I was told it was a piracy protection thing.
