Hey guys,
have to take a break from my Ice Dragon to work on this school project. The mandat is to make a gun, 10k polys limit. I chose the Desert Eagle because I liked its profile. But as I don't know guns at all, I soon realised that the front shape wasn't like I thought (thought it was shaped like a box, but it's way more weirdo). Anyway I had to tweak my base mesh for hours before getting to it. The model is not a total replica of the real one I know but the goal is to get the final result look alike. Some details are to be done yet, should make them with the normal map. Will work on the texture this week.
I tried to keep the model around 2k polys so it could be used in-game.
Let me know what you think, you gun lovers!

The model is done! Finished the textures today. Model got a diffuse, spec and normal map, all 1024x1024. Model is under 2300 triangles.
Hope you like it :)

That looks pretty solid to me.

I got caught out in exactly the same way when I made one a year or two back. "Ooh, that'll be nice and simple, it's just a big boxy gun" I thought to myself....

@fartbunny: Thanks! I wish I could spend more time on the dragon, but I have a few projects running at the same time. Will try to post an update within the next weeks.. I hope.. hehe

@poopipe: That's exactly what happened ;) Thought I could do it in an hour or two. Been stuck with it for much longer, but I'm happy with the result though. Thanks for the comment!
