Hi, this model is of the character Cantide from the Gianax Animie entitled FLCL.
I am currently doing an extract from the short series for my second year project at University.
Inspiration for the design comes mostly from HaddeS and his amazing interpretation of the character. The rest is a mix between the original design with some more art deco influences.
Enjoy!

I used 3D Studio Max 9 It is fully rigged to a character studio Biped
and the renders are done with the basic scan line and a sky light.
Feel free to comment, I know it is far from perfect.

The poses feel a little weak.. Other than that, it's neat.

A monitor for the face is a cool design. Easier to read, dump, log error for the robot operator.....Maybe could be fun to have a really weird stupid pose, with a blue-screen and an informative humorous error log?

anyway. Nice and clean......
Cheers

The last render is best, but the metal shader stinks.

Excellent robot. I like the poses. Try to look for some japanese human or mech poses. Hehe. The metal can be a bit more shiny. Or was it intended to look semigloss?
