doing "a little" maintenance ?

during the last weeks/months I have been seeing more and more, lately amost all the time, this notice, when clicking on new gallery images:

Gallery almost completely unavailable in the meantime. Excluding German/European visitors to save traffic??

To clarify, whenever above notification message appears as you found, it indicates that we are technically working on some part of website....normally involving with programing works.

It can take few hours and few days depending upon complexity and difficulty of works really, and then that feature will be working again!

Nothing to worry about!

this is insane, i refuse to believe that one website can be so bug-ridden that it needs so much down time, the galleries seem to be constantly "under maintenance"..!

Over the line! Take it easy buddy! First time posting and you sound like an agry man. This agression will not stand!

Hasn't it ever occurred to you, man, that maintenance != bugs.

Imagine a web site which was originally designed for 1000 users. What happens when you exceed that limit (or get close to it)? You need to double the power for instance. How do you do that without powering off the server, opening it and replacing the good ole processor with a quad core? That's just an example of maintenance of course.
How about maintaning the database itself? Sometime critical upgrades are needed to fix buffer overflow attacks etc... How many times a week do you get Microsoft updates requiring you to restart your comp?

I hope you get the point. Of course it's annoying when the gallery is off but can't you just wait? I'll never understand people who get stuff for free and still complain.

no need to be rough with each other (or us :(), we all enjoy the gallery goodness and it is annoying when it's down and we're sorry about that; we reported that particular error message to our gallery programmer who's been keeping an eye on it for us - don't believe i've seen it myself in a while, so all should be fine and dandy right now :)

we're working on a whole bunch of cool new site features for the new 3DTotal (coming real soon), so if you do spot any error messages that you think might be faults, then do let us know - you can email them to me if you like: lynette@3dtotal.com

other than that, keep enjoying the stuff on site, and if you do ever find anything frustrating or not working, etc. etc., then feel free to drop us a line - we don't bite ;) if we know about problems, we can look into them :)
