View Full Version : Nov 2007 - Dinosaur (Carnivore) - VOTING

Lynette-3dt

OK, so now has come the time to start posting those final images!! :) Please post your Final Images in this thread.

800 or 1024 sized images are fine. Please post all entries before 10th December 2007 10:30AM GMT.
Only entries posted in the 'Nov 2007 - Dinosaur (Carnivore) - VOTING' thread before this date will be eligible for Voting.

Voting will then start immediately afterwards and will run until 17th December 2007 10:30AM GMT.

Note: the dates have changed slightly because the 3DTotal team aren't in the studio over the weekends, so the 10th and 17th are the Mondays closest to the 8th and 16th.;)

We will post to commence the Voting. Voting will be the same as last month, with each voter putting forward their top 3 entries, in order: 3pts for a 1st place, 2pts for 2nd, and 1pt for 3rd. This means that we will all have to choose very carefully!

Please feel free to give reasons for your selection, as it will be good feedback for everyone!

Thanks again for the great work that you have all put in. We look forward to this month's entries! Good luck, everyone!

Many thanks,

Lynette

Allrightie, I've been fiddling with some nice rendersettings but this should be it.
I tried to focus on the model itself instead of making a funny picture. Although I wanted it to be an appealing, loveable character I also wanted it to be a bit mean-looking. T-Rex's weren't the nicest guys around I think. Always making stupid jokes...
Modelled and rendered in Lightwave 9.3 on a Mac.

Good luck everyone!

Hi everyone!

The scene is inspired by a lil angry dog I had. He could hang on to your pinky finger with his tiny teeth. Cute, right? :)

Done in Max with vRay. Rendered in layers and composed in Photoshop.
I hope you like it!!

Good luck everyone

Ok...Instead of watching time slip by, I decided to just finish it today. So here we go.

http://www.lumaxart.com/siege/Carnivore/Trex_pose.jpg

I had other plans for it, but that would have been too time consuming. So I posed it,
then gave it an eye, some teeth, a tongue, and propped him up on a rock.
And dropped in a quicky background per last competitions posts.
Learned some new things about Zbrush with the making of the teeth.
It was a fun morning.

Won't have time to sort out a few things I'd have liked to but first entry in the competition. 3d Studio Max and First attempt at Z-Brush... g'luck te ya'll!

Kind of thought how relaxing it must have been to be top of the food chain back in the day... fat lazy dinosaurs chilling on a summer's day.

Sorry, I made a mistake.
If I can make a change, this is my final entry.
The only change is the brightness.

Thx

1st: Siege- Another solid entry
2nd: Sie- I loved your wip images, but your final image leaves me wanting more, I can't really explain why.
3rd: Aloavarez- Great picture, and I'm sure your dinosaur model is great, but I can't really tell because it's such a minor part of your image. I think maybe your entry could have been stronger with your dino in the foreground, a sort of reverse to your composition. This is the only thing that kept you from my first place vote. Your image rocks in every other respect.

Great job everyone. And thanks for the vote Rich.
