A shifter? I'd call that a wrench, great work though.

I can understand that, sorry if I sounded accusatory.
Why's it called a shifter in your neck of the woods? Is it because it can shift between various sized nuts\bolts?

Great work Sniper:cool:
I have a wrench just like that, save for the text of course. Why dont you render it against a dark bkgrnd? Could be a dirty tabletop or something like that. And scatter a few lugs and nuts.
Good model.

Why did you model a wrench ???
I don't understand...
I think that's strange to model a wrench...
Also, it look like a wrench ( or a shifter as you want ).
Nice rendering.
Here in Norway we say "skiftenøkkel" which consists of the two words skifte = shift and nøkkel = key.
So I'd say a shifter:D
A great shifter BTW:)

Hey Sniper, unless I'm mistaken, it says "Melbourne, Australia" in Jaz's location. :grin: By the way, do you like to have breky in the avo? Hehehe j/k :p
Anyway, it is a very realistic wrench. It has the grainyness inside in the impression area of the handle which adds a lot. Good work.

Damn good job Sniper, you got the SHIFTER metal looking extremely realistic. Did you use a procedural for that? What were the modeling techniques? Wicked...
And the tool is called a shifter, not a wrench, because it is from Australia. LOL

Ha :P told you all its a shifter. I made it cause I was bored using a real shifter as a reference I didnt use a pic. Its box modelled and the sharp edges have been chamfered to make them come out the right way once the mesh smooth was applied. The basic shape only took about 15 min but I spent about 2 hours getting every edge right as I wanted it to look good no matter how close you look at it.
This was finished as the shifter / spanner / skiftenøkkel / wrench / skiftnyckel was all I wanted to make, but due to some good feedback I think ill make a bit of a scene with a few tools lying around. How would I go about getting some greasy looking finger prints on the shifter / spanner / skiftenøkkel / wrench / skiftnyckel ?
Check WIP for updates.
here in argentina we call that "llave inglesa"
llave=key
inglesa=english (from england)
but dont ask me why we call it that way
great model BTW
cheers!
