animating render effects

greetings from the newbie..
my question actually i have hundreds of them..
i work on max 4.3 and all my questions pertain to it
i would like to know is it possible to animate the render effects such as blur? if so is it just a track view paramater?
also when composing for sterosopic production is it possible to composit scenes together and if not.. how big can you make an animation( keyframes and size) realistically for a home user. if i have a water droplet and a organism inside it and want to zoom into the water droplet then the organism f.e.:???:

you should be able to animate just about every parameter in max. as for bluring i'm sure you can animate all the spinners associated with it.

as for your second question, of course there are ways to composite thing. however max isn't always the tool of choice to do it, i hear a lot of good things about after effects as a compositor.

as for your water droplet organism idea. for your far shots you can always just render out the animal and put em on a place inside the drop and as you zoom in closer switch shots with the real thing or do a cut that would allow you to swap things in.

i guess just think about how you can create something by simplifying it to help you manage big projects.
