Well the characters were extremely simple. However the movements of the first character seemed pretty natural. The second one was too mincing to seem realistic in my opinion. Also the action they were doing wasn't that interesting. Overall it wasn't too bad.
I think with better characters you could show off your animation skills much better.

Great job...a character is not of that much importance if you aim for animation. Animators animate :) Really nice. I like the idea too :D!

Very nice sir.
Heh I love the music and the more detailed animations you put into the characters (i.e. legs shaking, etc..)
The part with the second guy knocking the "M" around like a balloon was cracking me up. :D

I saw this on 'another forum' :)
I have to say that is one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time!
The animation is excellent the timing is superb. The real feeling of weight! You were able to give quite some character to those rigs :)
You are one great animator m8!
the 'second guy' is obviously a gal
*edit* In fact I put it in my 'look at these when you get discouraged' folder :)

I can't believe some of us checked "I hear McDonalds is hiring".
Maybe what the characters do is not really "cool" but that's not everything.
This animation is cool.
There's a good sense of weight. The action is sometimes too fast but not enough to say that it ruins the whole thing.
Good work
:D

You are a very good animator.
Your modeling is very simple, but your animation is very good. I love it. I'm sure you're going to find a job.
Also I hope i'll see some other of your works.
Félicitations ! C'est magnifique !

Whoo realy cool animations here..
Character studio 4?
Wonderful F@#king wonderful, great animation and those are biped this is not a modeling demo it is obvious. And those who checked I hear Mcdonald's is hiring, totally missed the point of this reel. This is great and i too think you will be getting a job. And also to those who checked the Mcdonald's is hiring must be really new to the scene and should keep there comments to themselves.

wow! even though the characters were so basic, the animation more than made up for it. great stuff, you mustve spent a long time animating all those movements. btw, do you use a maneken(sp?) or do you think of the movements in your head?

A really great piece of work - I love the style of your animation, I think the movements and poses are simply fantastic and you definately gave character to the figures.
Really, awesome work. I loved it. And I'm very jealous.

That is animation at it's purest form :D!!!
Great stuff, realy nice, you dont need any super detail models to make a good character animation, the animation of the character gives 90% of it's personality already. ;)
And as you dont have any close ups of the characters in this animation there is no point to make detail models...

I loved the piece. Great work! Timing, weight, everything is superb and ties in with the piece beautifully. I am a character animator myself, and from experience I understand what it takes to breathe life into an inanimate object.
I have no negative feedback whatsoever, I absolutely loved it.

Hey, just got back from out of town and got to read all the replies.
To answer some of the questions that were posted:
fospher.com:I dont use a mannequin, but I do use thumbnails and even videotaped myself as reference.
IDownupI:I used Character Studio 3, haven't tried 4 yet but I've heard good things.
And thanks to Tom for sticking me on the frontpage...I'll let you guys know how the job hunt goes...
PS. Personally I think that McDonald's is hiring is the coolest choice on the list and I had to vote to see the results, so one of those McDonalds votes was me:p
Great animation vith great idea. Im still laughing! I like that sake of legs when that guy wanted to lift it up! hehehe :D :D

That was too cool!!
I love the simplicity of it and the effectiveness.
Professional Character Animation and Expert timing!!
Way to go! Keep it up! Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton would be proud!! :D
Mike - just checked out your website...cool stuff m'man! You worked at Rainbow Studios? Whatever happened to the "Blue Planet" film project? I'd love to see more than just the teaser that was released...
That VW Transformer is Kick-A but it looks like Jazz (my favorite transformer) from the face and weapon...'cept Jazz was a Porshe...kinna seems like Jazz and Bumblebee got chop-shopped into one car? ;)

Bumblebee is the greatest :D
God I loved transformers back in the day. Think I should have all my transformer toys lying around somewhere.
Just doing my part to keep this on the front page :). I already commented on the animation, once should be enough :).

I just hope that the dum***s who checked the McDo thing has been hired by them! :lame:
This is a superb animation in the purest form! Honestly, I found the idea extremely cool and I will take the idea as a learning experience. This is probably if not The best way to practice animation of any type of skeleton frame...
By the way, it is the way I will take because it will also help me learn my software package!
