new warcraft 3 unit

well I have to design a new warcraft 3 unit and if I do good my teacher will get me an internship at blizzard. So I was just wondering if you guys could give me some feedback about what unit you would like to see. thanks

I'm not really familiar with Warcraft 3, only played the first one. But what are the units in 3? I remember mining, fighter, builder, and woodcutting units from the first one. I'd say the one most people would create would be the fighter\warrior ones, so maybe go with one of the others.

I guess it depends on your tastes.

well first I started this so I could get an idea of what the people who played the game would like to see for new units.. not to see if you guys like my art right now. I'm currently working on 4 different characters so I will post them when I get them finished. I jsut wanted some info but thamks FutureMan for the post.. I'll have the drawing done in about a week.. I hope..

id like to see another dark elf unit, a unit more like an ent, yeah i know all thos ancients can walka around and stuff, but i want a a fighter =)
they dont really have a unit that can deliver alot of punishment (of course i think thats kind of the point, but still!)...

sry but I´d say that if you want a intership at blizzard and stay there you should be able to think of things yourself, post them and get the feedback then.
Is creativity such a rare good ?!?

As for the concept. I agree with Prs-Phil. The character should come from you and should be of your design. And you have a good start but i think it needs some more development.. To me it just seems like the current orcs mixed with a bit of ogre. But thats cool cuz its something that you can build on. I cant really tell what his or its lower half is like though. (What is going on down there???... )

A tip for developing your characters, think about what kind of story or personality would this unit have. What kind of cool tricks or spells could it do?? Use this to help you design your character and give it a bit more form. As an example if you want it to be a "tank" unit which can take a lot of punishment you could give it an elephant like body. If you already have ideas about its background post em' up (in brief) cuz it is half of well designed character.

Kind of a long message huh. But keep it coming dude and post up some more stuff.

Oh and if you do end up getting an internship at blizzard, i will be one person who will be quite jelous. One of many people.

just make up a new race and balance it with the other already existing races.

like a demon race, or a dwarven race,.
this free's up the creative juices immensly

or just go with something like a human tracker with dogs that he sets loose =P

although if you add a unit to one race then you gots to compliment it for all the other races.

for the elves it could be a birdmaster

orcs a wolf master

undead a skeletal dog master?.

hehe.

you could make that if the dog master gets likked that the dogs scatter or something

I re-0designed it.. no barbarian.. I figured it was to conan ish.. so I went with my the celtic road.. yes it's markers.. I feel morel ose with markers then with a pencil but I submitted my drawings yesturday and from what my teacher said they looked good.. so.. I'll get word in about a week.. I'll pose to new version of it once I can get it scanned

I was going through some poses.. he is breaking someone over his knee.. heh.. sorry.. first time using a sharpy to draw.. but I did away with the barbarian and so on.. and I did come up with my own characters.. anyways I'm gonna paint the final version of my celtic warrior dude.. so you'll probably see it in the finished 2d section..and maybe one day the 3d section..toodles for now
