Hello there peoples,
I've recently made this watch as I could do with some product vis type work for my portfolio I thought :) Took a few days in all, modelled in XSI but rendered in max with Vray (I was getting back into the swing of it for a job :) )

good metal shader, but the number indicators seem really unevenly spaced to me.

Is that a shadow on the left side of the watch face, or is it the style of the watch?

The shaders and lighting look good- except the shadow Bubbaloo mentioned.
Personally, I'd rather see a perspective render than this straight on view. This view doesn't really make use of the 3D.

Thanks for your replies peoples.
Hmmm I think you might be right actually, they should be even - I wonder if anything weird is going on, I will have to check.
The dark area on the left isn't a shadow, its a reflection (or lack of) in fact. I personally don't feel like it has to really make use of 3d, just because it is 3d.
But relating to both those things theres an animated shot of it on my reel which you can see here. (http://www.simonreeves.com/?page_id=12)

Wow your demo reel is awesome! I agree that you don't necessarily need to show 3D in 3D, just a thought. You should animate the watch ticking in high speed :)
