Ok, so im starting from scratch, just cause i cant seem to get along with the last guy.
Im thinking along the lines of warlord again, however this time not so human, more of a creature/beast. Prehaps something with leaves. anyway, im going to narrow it down to a few choices:
Warlord - ice/water
Assassin - Darkness/void
Warlord - Vegetation
Warlord - Light/Holy
These are the paths ill explore, as for my previous character, ill keep him on my hard drive, just as a backup.

yes your thread name can be changed. But when you link your thread over to the GA thumbnail section, your thread name will have to stay the same. But you got plenty of time before you need to do that.

Description/Backstory:
[[Name]] is a strong and well built warrior of the darkness. From the distant galaxy from the far reaches of the universe. Considered a hero amongst his people, the man who fought create metal beasts and who bathed in the blood of his enemies.
He goes by the sign of death, symbolled by his skull shaped helm and dark, mystical armour. He carries two large blades both with the power of darkness deep from the mountain caverns from his homeworld.

Heres my start with the 3D, its at 1,552 tris at the moment, and i dont need to model a face/head as its covered up by that helmet, however im thinking of ways to use those extra tris we've been tossed.

Next will be the basic head form, and then the helmet i think :D
Im not going much further than this until tuesday as things could be moved around somewhat with the brief. We'll see how it pans out.

Luckily this can be switched at this point between quite a few races without having much editing. So im leaving it at this for tonight. Crits very very welcome, as ive had none yet :(

I would get a good nights sleep, ten wake up and take a step back.
Use the front view that you got posted in here as your concept, then draw on it in photoshop. Use it to push your idea to the next level.
Its good, don't get me wrong, but at first glance it does not look like he could take out an army by his-self, but that is the look you will want.
You can either bulk up armor, add loose objects and start thinking about a weapon.

problem with my concept is that i want the guy to have his torso bare as i want the tattoo to show as thats important, but i dont have many places to add details to :S
suggestions?
the weapons are going to be huge, so i might buff him up a bit more in the 3d.

hey Tyler mate :)
I like the idea, and the creepy mask is great.
If want to add something to him maybe you could try either;
if he is going to be mostly un-armoured, really bulk him out muscle wise, maybe styalise proportions of arms and hands / claws. A beserker style of thing, dosnt need armour caus he is just way too hard ;p (thinking in terms of The Hulk :D)
if want to add something in armour wise but keeping the chest bare.. how about some really chunky shoulder guards and leg greaves?
looking forward to seeing more :) keep it up

Cranioz is at 7492 tris so id also like to optimise it again i think, have the body at 5-6000 and the weapons and effects using the rest.
What do you think :/

Hmm there are really many polys i think too much of them in areas where you don't need so much.

Now down to only 6,280 tris, so i have about 2700 for weapons, im giving him two huge blades, i might also add a few more details before i port him into zbrush/mudbox :D

Got a tad bored of waiting around for tuesday to come, so i made a plinth, nothing final, and i know its not important, but i just had the urge :D
Im thinking about adding more to the sides, we'll see.

This is a new concept of mine, not sure how this will pan out. It seems to huggable. Something you'd LIKE to have in your back garden, not something that would take out lots of enemies. Ill work on it a bit, and do a few of my other ideas.

Another concept from me, some tiger cub warrior, i was thinking of how to make something cute into a warlord type character, im liking the idea of a really small tiger cub with a blade on its back and claws out, something that would only come up to your knee.
ill work on this idea i think.

Yeah, That tree dude doesn't look too fierce now... he just looks like he's surprised to see you in the back yard lol. naw really though, I like the imply of the earth he's standing on. Try to incorporate other qualities of the earth into your design. It's an early rendition you have there. No doubt that it'll find it's way. Hey, that would be funny and unexpected. Funny like those mini creatures from space balls lol.
