Class : Invoker
Artifact Weapon : I'm partial to Swords, although a Great Hammer would work better. (Ice)
More to come....Probably best to put your warmest hides on...it's gonna get real cold here...:smug:

Thinking twin Kukris and ancient scrolled armor...right now the shoulder pads are to close and to small, but I might make them more to protect the extensors on the neck...more to come and still a WIP obviously...

Blocking in the proportions. The armor isn't a final shape, just a place holder..it's going to be quite a bit different. The character will be refined some more over the next few days. I also hope to post my production schedule using Freemind..a very useful program off the web. The chest is still flat and the arms a bit small...

Last update for the night...I like the hands, but the position is not quite where I want it. The Kukri will probably get moved for weight. Also the left side of the pectoralis and serratus isnt quite doing it yet. The ball knee is part of my drawing process and not a robotic part...more tomorrow.

Yeah. He looks like he could generally kick the crap out of most any adversary. Keep refining it, but I think the head is on a good track so don't change it too much IMO, if at all.
edit-- just read the back-story. I really like the way you treated this.

i really like the head/neck armor. left forearm and thigh seem a bit long. and to me the weapon shape doesnt seem to fit the personality of the character. the character screams big and badass and the weapon says stealthy and agile. im gonna keep an eye on this thread, it seems like this could turn out to be great. keep it up!
katana

Thanks Omnicypher. Stealthy and agile? hmm...I meant it to be a weapon weilding invoker...anyone else have an idea about weapon vs. look at this early stage?
Yep..I was getting tired...forearm is to long and the massive thighs are make the lower legs puny...I'll fix it up.
I wasn't going to change the head...Thank you for that...MonteCristo

I shrunk the right forearm by 10%, lengthened the lower legs and shortened the thighs a bit. I got rid of the Kukri and replaced it with a staff for the time being, befiiting his magic use. The angle of the staff doesnt show the lower part behind his leg that well, so I'll have to adjust that. and it's just a placeholder anyway...Thanks all..Keep the comments coming..it helps alot!

Ice daggers....with Threedy's icons for pommels. I have one more weapon choice to show before moving onto the armor...Comments welcome. Also, all the work on this forum really looks great. Last year there were 7 pages of threads started for this contest, but only one page of finishes..let's make it a good one...

I like how you gave him big thick legs. a lot of characters have small little legs but it gives him some stability

The other idea I had today. I'll be putting up an alternative end to the staff as well. Thanks for looking.

Now, that's a cool integration of the logos! :D Good one.

Here's the alternative idea. Three glowing Ice/Crystal shards attached to one end of the Staff (Flail). The only other idea would be to break the two ended version into two weapons...Would like to get some feedback if possible on what seems to work.
That's enough time on this part of the concept...(it was quickly rushed..btw...so the chains/translucency suck...lol)...onto the body surface.

I kind of like the right hand this way...considering not painting in the rock bits like the face and feet...also moved over the left forearm/hand...wider reach...I think it's stronger. A friend commented the character should be in a ready fighting pose...wish I had thought of that at the outset...I'm budgeted for 40 hours on concept and model sheets...It will be tight for me to get it all done by sunday....hate having to go to work everyday...it screws me up...lol

Beefy fella!
I like his weapon, though it looks more agility based. Will he be able to move fast enough to use it effectively?

The weapon in a fast paintup...The handle an old gaslight lantern from industrial days to help represent the post apocalytic genre...the crystal embedded into the light fixture and fused to the icon...

About 22 hours or so later...I was well within my budget for this step. The only thing I omitted at the end, were 3 large chunks of Ice spinning around the character...kind of like a magic shield...comments welcome. I'm going to start on the model sheets and a production schedule to track my time on this project...be well and good luck everyone!

i really like the concept, but somthing about the color doesnt seem to look right. it might be that the concept has too many colors in it. you have blue yellow and purple, and there all really vibrant. maybe if you changed the purples to blue, or even to a more nutral color like grey, it might tone it down a bit. on first look the eye is led directly to the purple gem in the chest, and its hard to look away from that. but its still a really cool concept. i was messing with it in photoshop, playing with the hue slider, and with this many colors it gives some trippy results.

Yea I knew it was getting busy..I tried to keep the saturation just to the magical elements...for now I'll leave it and when I return to it to finish it out...I'll make some adjustments...thanks!

I think I'm going to revisit and tweak the concept. I think it needs to be pulled away from the obvious cliche' look of a humanoid and pushed more towards the element of ice....I still like the concept though, and I had another idea for the look of the weapon. I dont have alot of time to work on it, so it will be quick and dirty to get an idea...working through the models sheet as well. I want to start the LP tomorrow.

Starting the LP...working the shape of the head. Not doing the whole thing just what is exposed. Then I'll block out the body/armor. The concept has to much of a rounded look, I'll be adding in more angular shapes to describe the ice build...comments welcome/
