This is where I am currently headed. I have started modeling the base form. I will post it soon.

I am thinking a fighter. Large muscular bruiser. Something different for me. No armor, but a magic helmet, or helm, etc..

He will put it on/lower it and become empowered. glowy. maybe basic weapons, maybe not human, but humanoid.

The face will show the strain of wearing the object. Veins, burns, etc...

Element: fire

Here is the latest.

Asher is a fighter. Started in the streets and promoted through the ranks. He is ruthless and unforgiving and because of these qualities he was chosen to receive the elemental crystals of lighting. The crystals within his gauntlets and belt infuse the electric power of the gods. With it he shall put an end to all his foes.

Looking good so far. I like your last concept as well, though I would like to see both of his eyes look like the scarred all white one. It would make him more god-like and badass. I feel like the 1 scar across the eye has been done too many times before. Just a thought though. Good Luck!

Working on muscles of the leg and upper arm. Plus putting on some shin and knee pads.

I am thinking how can I make him look tougher. Will post more this week.

I am still thinking about making changes. I am fairly happy with how the model is coming out. Not sure how it is going to deform though. I do not like the knee pads. I just can't get the look that I was initially thinking. And I need more work on the back and back of the legs.

Next is a weapon, even though he doesn't really use one, he should have a tool/backup. I am still thinking the short blade shown in a previous post.

Any crits are appreciated and encouraged. I know that some other submissions are far above mine, but still I am looking to get better even if it is jsut a side hobby.

Thanks

Lookin good Car17. You definately capture your overall concept. It looks like you have a solid start. I agree with you on the knee pads, though not sure what you can do here... I would say try attacking them as a seperate mesh rather than a part of the shin guards it may give you more options. Also they are very flat, have them wrap around the knee more on the sides. I think it will make the over all shape more of what youre lookin for. Also, something about the head doesnt fit...maybe square his jaw a bit, rather than keeping it so rounded. I think it would make him look more badass.

Good Luck!

Here is the latest. I am going on vacation next week, so I will add the Robes/cape and that will have to be it. The hopefully I can get some texture on it. I am not skilled in the normal maps and Zbrush & Mudbox. I am so jealous.

I would love some comments, maybe to work on when I get back. Good luck to all. There is some AWESOME stuff in this competition.

Here is the latest. It doesn't look like I'll finish before I head off for vacation. Good luck to all. I will check in and see how everyone does. Please still leave some comments, so that I have something to work on when I get back.
