Hydral(s) Stalker

An amphibious species that works in shadow cels to covertly execute certain objectives. Have been designated so because of their natural stealth capabilites, and, at the same time, have rough alligator skin-like scales/plates that serve as an armor of sorts. because of this they require little to no type of armament. They have tendril-like appendages emanating from the orifice at the "shoulder" cavity as well as their "waist" that help them propel and navigate underwater.

They live in the underwater domain as the most intelligent of it's inhabitants. Through their knowledge of the deep and vast icy waters, they have learned to culminate the properties that make up water, and through a specially crafted artifact, they have learned to harness and control the water element to advance their goals. As they are related to cephalopods (squids), they can phase the pigments in the softer areas of exposed skin which aids in their infiltration routines.

Think of it as an alligator crossed with a squid...that can use magic. 8O

The humanoid feel of the creature makes it look wierd without arms.

K well, I'm at the drawing board for the armor. I'm doing something now, but i could use a couple ideas. Anyone?

Here's my first idea for the armor. It's pretty much a breastplate that's also the artifact. The Ice arms then materialize from the sides as water, and then freeze to form arms. I'll add a sketch of what i have planned for the arms as well before a finalized concept where i bring it all together. All feedback is most welcome.

Thanks

Gah, love the new armor sketch....it looks great. It almost looks like it could serve as an overly elaborate helm/crown as well.

Judging by your scale of the armor on your character though, I think I would make it a bit bigger and beefer on him. Not overly so, but for something so angular, it seems to be very form fitting at the moment.

Now a rough of the Ice arms being drawn by the artifact. I had the idea that as he got stronger, the patches of harder ice would widen, Through knowledge of the element. It would also make the shards even bigger, so right now he's pretty strong. 80

cool concept man. the open armor is reallt slick, looks awesome. the ice is gonna look cool aswell. if you plan on making it transparant its gonna take up a lot of poly's tho.

It looks really good as is. The tail thing on the back of the head is shorter than your concept though, if that's intensional then it looks great :)

Yeh it looked like too much of an appendage, and wanted to make it look more compact. Thanks for the comment.

cool, very nice design and sculpting.. although i think the ankles could be a little smaller, looks like the legs are the same size at the top as the bottom. on your concept you got the ankles smaller and the foot gets bigger towards to toes.

keep up the good work!!

cool, I'm thinking of redesigning them alltogether. The feet that is. We'll see if time allows
Thanks for the input.
