Try a posed sketch, that can help alot, and help you figure out what kind of charater it's supposed to be.

i have started modelling the head
Good start man. The mouth looks a bit small. The corners of the mouth should line up with the middle of the eyes. That could help a bit with the mouth size. keep it up.

hmmm iŽll fix that, thanks man

Looks like youre off to a good start. I would check up on your head proportions either with reference online or by getting a book. I just picked up "Anatomy for Fantasy Artists" and its helped me out TREMENDOUSLY.
Good Luck.

hmm thanks for the help khemist, i will check some references, i full colored the concept, i pretend to add more detals to the model 3d than the concept, i'm not so good on drawning =/, i'm not sure on where i will put the 3dtotal logo too...i will think on that later...

nice work, thats a very scary grin lol, joker-esque :D
I agree with khemist, you have a very good base mesh there for head, check some referance and you can turn it from a good start to a really kick ass grinning head :D good luck!

DiogoM

Yikes...someone looks happy for war, eh?
Your concept is pretty cool and has potential. I think your head model is a little too high poly, there are a couple edges in the cheek that don't really do anything at all, and can be removed. Other than that, looks like you're off to a solid start.

here is some weapon concepts, i liked more the number 5, so i will do it...
DiogoM

here he is with the weapons, i will tweak the topology of him know, critiques are very welcome :smug:

I like number 5 as well, though 3 is nice too. I love the long curved blades that don't taper at all.
Perhaps a combination of the two.

here he is, a bit different from de concept, i had some new ideas for modelling when as working on the model, i think the model looks cool, i have 400 tri yet and i will use to add more details on the character, any idea?
those planes next to the weapons i will use to make a glow around the weapons and that above the head i will make the teeths, any suggestions i will apreciate, sorry about my english =/

here is the uv mapping, n1 knows how to export this mapping in zbrush in subtools? like, every element of the uv is a subtool..?

You're unwrap looks ok but a little messy. I might try and orginize it a bit better before pulling it into zB, it'll make the texturing proceedure much less painful. And you'll be using a 2048 colour map, so you can really get those UV seems pretty close together...you've got too much space in between right now.
As far as doing separate elements, you'll need to actually separate your mesh and export it as separate .obj's.
DiogoM
10-03-2008, 01:32 AM
hmm, so i will organize the uv better...thanks man!
DiogoM
13-03-2008, 02:17 AM
i think the uv is better now, here is an image of some parts of the leg i'm sculpting in zbrush!
DiogoM
14-03-2008, 01:22 AM
more zbrush sculpt!
Puckducker
14-03-2008, 01:42 AM
Yep, the uv's look like the take use of the space better now. I'll make things easier when you get into photoshop as well.
Your zBrush sculpt seems to be moving along fairly well so far....are you using anything for reference for the ornate details?
DiogoM
14-03-2008, 11:07 AM
thanks man, i get inspired of some illustrations of "Lineage II" i did some alphas in photoshop and started using them and painting another ornaments randomly using my tablet, just painting ornaments and when i think one is cool i keep it, and so on

Very well done! My only critique is the smile seems a bit strange, and next time you should turn those knees outward more, because when knees go inwards it looks a bit funny. Well done, congratulations on completing this!

thanks! well, i don´t know a lot about anatomy, but I will platice more for the next year, this was the first time I have used normal maps too, I had some troubles with zbrush to get it, this was the first real sculpting I have done with zbrush too, before that i have done just simple things with zbrush... so i´m proud with the results heheh, next year i will do better, u will see =]
