Hi guys and gals !

This is my latest creation, its still in progress.
It’s based on my fears of my childhood, for example I was always freaked out my Mushrooms and washer/dryers (weird i know).
Im still in the middle of modeling, but I hope to be finished modeling it in a few weeks.
Then i’ll be texturing it and rendering it out in Multi Passes, i’ll also be making a matte painting for the background. I’ll be posting minor updates about every other day or so.

so I'm thinking that your going to go something about that logic defiing washer. looks like it's going to fall over and roll down the hill.

"watch out there is a washer roling down the hill!"
"oh no"
"Ahh"

I think I'm afraid of washers to now...

Cool idea. When I was a kid I was scared of those giant wooden spools that they wind telephone wire on... So I guess I can't say anything about your fear of washers. Although, as a person who doesn't have a washer/dryer in my apt. and I have to go to the laundromat, I'd say you'd be more justified in being afraid of not having one.
Maybe since your image will be a somewhat surreal one, you should looks to artists like Salvador Dali or Rene Magritte for inspiration.

hello again !
@

I’ll be tweaking a lot of things now, since the main parts of my scene
are blocked out.
The minor changes i’ve made are the nails on the deck and door. I deleted the second planet and shifted the washer over to the far left. I plan to have the door of the washer open (maybe).
The image below show my planes for the next week or so. Creating the pipes under the washer, making a candy cane for a chimney (because as a kid i was afraid of santa, true story lol). I also have plans to put windows into the mushroom. Fix the door on the house and mushroom, and add hinges to the door.

hi all !
minor update.
Add a “temporary” pipe under the washer for now, i will be add a lot more detail to it
just wanted to block it out.
I also added a small sign on the second island/planet, i’m gonna put “Keep out” on the sign (he he).
I also added a small window on the large Mushroom.

hello !
This time around i’ve added more pipes to the Washer, and created a third island/planet in the back. The red marks represent more stuff im gonna add.
If anyone has suggestions on anymore “details” I should add please feel free express them !

I like the idea, behind this scene :)
and beside that, the scene is modeled pretty neat!
The only thing odd is the shadow(?) under the hut of the big Mushroom!

thanks for all the comments.

Question:
I found like to insert a matte painting in the background (sky), but I was wondering which is the best way to put into my scene.
Would i insert the image when im putting my renders together in photoshop or do i insert the painting in 3D max, like the image attached below.

quick update.
Still working on the “tree” , i’ve attempted to start to make my on grass compared to using the hair and fur modifier.

quick update:
I've moved a few things around, this is not the final composition.
I'll be moving the Tree house down a bit more and scale down in
size the Washer and probably move it to the right.

Dude this is a cool idea, i love it, can't say i was ever afraid of washers but hey, every one has something right? ... personally i like the previous layout better, to me everything seem too lined up now ... before it had a sort of simplistic chaos kinda thing going which was working well for the image

i agree with Molo... i think post 12 has better framing. Still really like this wip so far.

I agree with both of you, I was wondering if I could make my scene a bit more dramatic.
But the Washer will be pushed back on top of a hill and the Tree house will be lowered just a bit.
I'll post more as soon as a finish a bit more of the modeling :)

hi all !
another update.
I fixed up the following:
Door on Mushroom Planet
Details on Door
Washer rearranged
Added Fence on Washer Planet
Added stones on Tree House Planet
Fixing the Tree

I will be adding more objects later on, right now im 80% finished modeling the Mushroom Planet and just starting to fix up the Tree House Planet.
As shown i’ve started some texturing this is not the final texture, but the direction of style im going in.

hello again !
yet again another update :)
I fixed up the following:
The Tree House, the roof still needs some work.
Pushed the Tree House back, helps give the sense of depth
Added the Books and Alarm Clock.
Added a Daylight lighting system (11am or 1pm ? i forgot)

Much more will be improved such as the actual tree and the
pipes underneath the washer.
Still working on the overall composition.

Hey mistry is looking awsome, very cool idea and production. Brighter blue in the sky would look better in contrast with the green on the spheres. Keep it up!!!

I was thinking about removing the Tree house and out in a Roller coaster instead. The Roller coaster's rails could extend behind the Mushroom and move into the front (foreground) of the image, that way it can show distance. Check out the attachment below, the white line represents the rails/track. The overall look of the Roller coaster will be something like the second attached image.

hello again.

I decided to reduce the amount of objects in my scene only because this is my first time creating an environment. I’ve also took out the daytime lighting and still working on the lighting it self. Any critiques or suggestions on lighting would be wonderful ! :P
I’ve been practicing my lighting on a past (still uncompleted) project, an apple.
(picture below)
There are some close up renders of the other to planets/hills.

I created a much better composition, its actually telling a story this time. Still modeling a few more objects for the scene.I’ve created a egg character for the scene, below are some concept sketches and the textures/water aren’t final. Still a long way to go.
The second render is the actually composition, the first render is just a close shot of the island.
