so i think i have this model all rigged up in order to start animation. she was my first head model, and the original artwork didn't have her ears shoing, so that's why i didn't do the ears right off, and by the time i had converted her back to poly from subD, it was too late to combine.

i've made her into a semi-cartoonish irish step dancer - do you love michael flately of riverdance like i do? [uh oh, i know i just really pissed some flatley fans off!]. her ankles contain the setkey rotation functions for all sorts of good motion, as much as i'll be able to stand, that is. both the legs, arms and hands contain IK [sc and rp], limit functions, and soft influences for some realistic deformation. for the arm positions i will be switching between IK and FK. her jaw works to open and close so that when i do the blend shape, it will have that extra bit of function [she can actually sneer like a dork right now. it's kinda cool.] and her eyes 'rotate', follow targets that is.

and yes, right now, she is 'nekked', and in the tradition of immature 2D animators with whom i spent way too much time working around, i could have given her butt cheeks, but that would have required a jiggle function which i haven't worked on yet. so i'm saving all of that for the porn version [kidding. porn animation s-u-c-k-s. it is truly pathetic.]

the story line to mock myself for not putting the ears on right wawy, is she comes out onto an empty stage to some sad celtic music that con only remind one of yearning, searching, searching, until someone [that would be me] mysteriously throws her ears up onto the stage, she picks them up, holds one of them to her head like a seashell, hears the music, slaps them onto the side of her head [point constaints! point constraints!] and then runs off to perform the second half of the piece based more on some of flatelys' "lord of the dance" poses.

any reasonable comments are appreciated, and have a lovely week. thanks.

now that you've encouraged my inner clown, when i the character poses done with the soundtrack for the first part, i will definitely try and post it. i will atleast show the actual character pose storyboard. you should know better! thanks much. glad i could share some laughs with all of the other crap going on these days!

good joke:
Q - how do you know when you're having a conversation with a geek who has social skills?
A - when he/she talks to you, they look at your shoes instead of their own.

[somedays, that might be me..sadly enough..]
