Speed Painting Challenge no. 72, starts now and ends on the 29th of April, 2008, Tuesday.

Topic: Car Race.

Idea: its your choice to make it normal, or u can even show an accident on the track, show a scene on the middle of the track or at the finishing point, whatever u can think of to make it look more convincing. whichever kind u like, not necessarily a formula 1 type...:).

all rules stay the same.

Hi This is my entry, painted from memory after watching all them nascar races when i had the time.

I have tried to portray the speed and closeness of Nascar racing. I used my new wacom bamboo tablet which i bought last week and Photoshop CS2.

Oh, sorry guys for posting so late, I couldnt stick off from Gears of War xD Here is a little post apocalyptic theme, where are two car gangs fightning between each other. 6 hours in photoshop nonstop. Ps2 and Genius A4 tablet.

Hello all. I hope the fact of sent two images was authorized.
Well I make my vote.
1. In position 1 I place the speed paint from Ha_Jassar. His sense of speed made me rethink my own post and tried to give this effect in my second proposition. I love the shiny and comprehensive render.
2. In number two, I place the concept from Omeganista. I like the view and the movement of the picture.
3. I place Zylak because I like his retro style design for this subject.
That's all for me wait your opinions.

1. Dioudou- I really liked how your second one turned out. It's nice and clean and a cool idea.
2. Zylak - Sweet cars and nice brushes. They give it a really cool charcoal/paint look.
3. Reddgrrr - I like the idea. The lights remind me of the 'No Country for Old Men' chase scene.

1 - M_Cederstrom - i liked your image from the first time i saw it, to me it captures the speed of the car in the corner and you can really feel the sense of it drifting...is it gonna end up in the dirt! or manage to save its self.

2 - Dioudou - Your 2nd picture you entered reminds me of wipeout the computer game, but ti like the fact the picture gives the impression that the car has just kicked in its afterburners and is about to blast into the distance.

3 - HA-Jassar - The feeling i get form your picture is intense speed as if the the car has been shot from a gun and is about to disintagrate (Sp).

looking forward to the next round.

Pure Slack... Honestly, how hard is it to post another topic right after the last ended and the winner is chosen (grats btw!!), im mean the last challenge was ended the 11th May. Now we got almost two weeks gone by. This whole theme began almost 5 weeks ago. That would have been another challenge with proper organization. I love this forum really, please, keep this running professionaly.

To write a new topic takes 5 minutes. I'm amused about this. We got the 2.6.2008 now, the challenge was announced 13.04.2008. So we got seven weeks gone past with one challenge. This is not what i expect from a forum like this. Seriously, revive this topic and make a new challenge each week, with tight rules like in the speedmodelling contest. Its awesome how u can see progress and posts there. We could have had three exiting challenges up to now with really nice contributions.

Any ideas when the next contest is? I just signed up hoping to get involved.

If we're stuck for ideas we could always just throw in some ideas each and pick one. How about 'The city at night', 'Steel works', 'Deserted town', 'Alien landing', 'Futuristic city' (I know it's been done to death).
