Cool stuff Brad. The first one has real personality. Looks like he's saying: "You made boo-boo to Ka'Thor, now Ka'thor makes boo-boo to you!". :D

I like the alien (second image). The others are great too.
What are you using to make them? And is it possible to see one wireframe =D
Great work, keep up!

I like the horny alien...the alien with hornes I mean :D The second one is cool too but the head looks like Hellboy's Death in Hellboy: The Golden Army. Glad to see you're still at it my friend. Keep them coming!
dang i totally love the Death Angel from hellboy - but in ure sculpt at the moment he seems like a mutant chicken :D
joke aside really nice sculpting ..... i want to make him 2, but don't really have time at the moment. also the Alien is ace.

DemolishMan: Thanks for the kind words. IIn the first models I used Mudbox but lately I’ve really gotten into Zbrush and just love it. I’m using Maya to render out the last guy with Mental Ray.
Avatar-3DT: haah come on man you know me I will do this stuff until I’m 90. Yes the head was inspired by Hellboy2 creature.
Bgen: certainly not my intent to make the guy from hellboy. I just liked the head design and took it from there.
Droarty: hey dan buddy well here you go I’ve started on the textures. They suck but it’s a start..ahah
M_Cederstrom: I’m glad you like it..thanks
Ok here is an update on the poly paint. Need to add more color variations but it’s a start. Does anyone know how to change the res when using color to texture in zbrush. When I like the button it just gives me a 1k map. I can’t seem to see where you change the res

Thought I would show my newest model. Yes yes its an orc but I've never made a full one before so here it goes.
McFly
25-11-2008, 12:42 PM
The orc looks promising.
I like the alien just above the orc, very creepy. I love the facial expression but it needs some kinda hooves IMHO. Legs / feet look unfinished at the moment.
Looking forward to more from you!
bradjames
28-11-2008, 12:42 PM
McFly thanks but for the alien I'm done and want to move on. I agree the design is lacking in areas but I got what I wanted out of the project so its on to the next.
Here is a quick render of the orc so far in maya. loads of work left yet

[QUOTE]
it's simple but weird - zbrsuh all over
go to the texture menu thing
set the texture size to whatever you want
click new - it'll then assign a new blank texture to your model (it's fine that your model appears to lose all its colour)
click the clr>txr button and it'll bake you out a texture at the size you want
oh yeah,
you're good at this, very impressed :)

DaddyDoom: ahaahh thanks man. Thats the kind of reaction I wanted for the alien :)
agrmrs: Thanks
poopipe: Thanks for the help and I will certainly test it out.
HansKa: Thanks

Looks awesome. Why don't you try some texturing with this one?

your "orc" looks like an attempt at replicating the digital apprentice Troll model created by Jelmer Boskma or at the very least heavily inspired by.
You should have mentioned this?

Thanks for the replies and Avatar-3DT if I can find time I will texure him but I have some work coming up so I don't see the time being there.
Sathe you are right I shuold have mentioned that his troll was a big inspiration to me and if Jelmer does see this I apologize for not saying so in the start.

Looking nice an gory :D Maybe add a bit more bump to the cloth. The leather belt looks ace.
Aleks
09-12-2008, 01:09 AM
Nice. I gotta try and texture one of my models too someday :)
Keep it up,mate!
bradjames
11-12-2008, 02:10 AM
I agree it needed more bump so here you go. Not sure about the belt now that I changed it. I will keep playing around.
Alex: You should get into it man. Once you start you won't be able to stop
here is an update on the cloth and a start on the axe

11-12-2008, 02:18 AM
Looking good dude, can't wait to see the end result. btw that axe is looking of the hook.
Robbert543
11-12-2008, 07:49 AM
Wow, awesome stuff man.
I only have one worry; What makes the blade of the axe not slide down the bone when you hold it upright? those bands look really loose.
Sathe
11-12-2008, 10:02 AM
Badass axe, nice work!,
It could definitely be textured to be sharper though, looks a little blunt. then again, crushing through skulls for a living will do that :P

11-12-2008, 05:46 PM
nice work with texturing!!!!
Avatar-3DT
11-12-2008, 10:41 PM
I think the cloth might need an aditional alpha for the lower part. You can control better the ripped part. As for the axe, darken the blood and add a specular map so you can add more reflexion and light on the sharp part of it. Robbert543 is right about the axe. Maybe make those bands metal too and add some big screws or bolts to tighten the blade in place.

16-12-2008, 12:47 AM
thanks again for the advice guys and I will cetainly work on those areas. I wanted to through down a little color on the actual orc and see what direction to head in. I think its I good start. No extra map but the color on him.

18-12-2008, 01:05 AM
Thanks for the replies
Here is some more work. I built up an sss shader for him now but I need to work the textures more I think. I think i will redo the cloth also because I'm not happy with it.
Avatar-3DT
18-12-2008, 06:44 AM
As I told you Brad, instead of trying to build the actual ripped geometry of the cloth, try using alpha maps ti simulate rip and tear. Also, maybe try and simulate a local cloth modifyer, it will insure a better flow of the cloth along character's naturals curves and shapes.

I don't, but for me the blood to saturated.
