hey - is that a featuere that has been disabled, or is it a bug?

eg i have a starshaped spline - and want to scale all inner vertices: usually i selected all fertices, and used the scale button to change the diameter of the selection. now nothing happens?!?

another thing: when clicking on an objekt, with shift pressed - it doesn´t clone anymore. either i have to move it with shift pressed, or rightclick and select clone. that really bothers me.

splines:
it doesn't do what you want by default on v9 - you need to choose "use selection centre" on the button next to the coordinate system list. This is probably the case on 2009 (can't be bothered to start it up right now)

cloning:
yeah - they broke that in max 2008 and it does my head in. What really annoys me is that the clone dialog won't let you make multiple copies in the same way that shift dragging does.

ah, upgrades. might as well get some of this off my chest while i'm on the subject...

They changed (broke) the way it handles moving multiple vertices in local space on an editable poly.

The new scene explorer is slow and incredibly difficult to read - there was nothing wrong with the old one ffs!! (They left the old style selection floater in max 2008 which I have bound to a key - it may still be there in 2009)

On the plus side they did give us the editable poly constraints which are really handy

I'm not all that impressed with max 2008/2009 in general to be honest - I wouldn't trust either to a commercial project yet

thanks, the use selection center button did it.

yeah i´m having serious problems here with ne new max. i think i´ll stick with the v8.

Personally I'd take the new versions over v8 - v9 brought a bunch of useful new stuff which is all in 2008/2009. it's the v9 - 2008/2009 jump I'm not so sure on.
