Hi to you all! This is my first time that I post in this forum. So for my first time I decided to post a matte painting in this wonderful competition. I just loved the theme and I hope you like my interpretation of it. I am looking forward to your comments! And now to my piece of work:
Name:
Christian Tillmanns
Time:
About 2 Weeks (only some hours a day, after my little son was brought to bed)
Technique:
Some 3D. a lot of Photoshop
Story:
Decades of war have gone past and a long desired peace finally came. Hundreds of thousands of souls were lost and once so proud fleets of battleships were only shadows of themselves. According to ancient rites both civilizations brought their dead sons, fathers and grandfathers, who died in their ships during the gruesome battles to a fury black hole at the edge of the universe to send them on the eternal procession into the deepest and darkest abyss.

With this challenge there was a great tendency to go towards illustrative elements, and less towards MP. In fact, with the exception of nocturn's piece which could count as a MP, the rest are all illustrations.
That's why, this challenge,
#1 goes to Nocturn8
#2 Rafalf
#3 DaddyDoom
Thanks for participating; I'll see about making a longer challenge over the summer period.
Cheers

I was living an illusion all this time. Next thing they'll be saying that 3DTotal is not actually run by a giant ENIAC like super computer that emulates young english adults working hard on a Worcester office with funky hand assembled shelves. I'm losing faith on internet...

Some excellent pieces of art - from people who have lots of patience.
