That totally depends on what sorta things you model , how much time you put into it, if you have maybe some former artistical background. I think that someone thats good in clay modeling would come into 3d real fast. All they have to so is learn the app somewhat so they can use it to adjust to their means. But anyway...for months..or 3 years...thats one hell of a nice model man :D!

I am 24. I've been around computers since I was 10. I do web pages and I got a bit bored so I thought I would give 3d a go. I really like it but with little spare time it is not easy to learn. I learned to model by studying Fiat 500 tutorial at 3dtotal.com.

lol yeah it just takes practice. There are a lot of excellent modellers on here, www.3dtotal.com has a great car tutorial on the fiat 500 that was written by karabo, who made an incredible model of the coolest car ever invented (Cobra baby :p)

Exactly mattdude...... Go to 3dtotal.com then to Tutorials page and you'll find the Fiat 500 tutorial...... Even if u're not using 3dsmax, it works as a technique to use with any software.......

here's a car ive been doing. its a rollcage car (remember the game?) :) these cars are damn fast 700kmh up to 1500kmh with turbo boosts... and big... very big. i think in the game there was a video where you could see that the front wheel is as tall as the driver

its not finished gotta add details, light and that stuff. done with 3dsmax6 brazil & photoshoped a little.
