Please use this thread to post videos of you working! html is enabled so you can try to embed them if you wish.

Many thanks, Tom

EDIT (MonteCristo) -- We just cleaned out some of the ealier messages so that we can keep this thread a bit more succinct. If it gets too convoluted it will take people ages to go through it all. :)

Its probably better just to put it straight into the sculpting challenge thread. This thread may get pretty messy in the future.
Mods, Maybe its possible to have a couple of sub threads for this section if there starts to be many more videos.

Im guess this thread is for any sculpting video, not just for the sculpting challenges..right? Couldnt really tell by the first post.

Yes it's for any sculpting videos, I'm not an expert on the embedding codes but I think the people who have done it so far get the codes given them by the site they have used to host the video....anyone else?

how to capture vedio of our work?

u would use screen recording/catureing programs

- the free open source, CamStudio - http://camstudio.org/
- or good expensive one, Camtasia - http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia.asp
thoes 2 are the best for that kinf of screen captureing.

if u want more, just go through the list here.

You really don't need outside recording software. Zbrush 3 has a movie feature. Just hit record before sculpting, and forget about it.

Completely random head I made. No real thought into it but I figured I'd share a video. It's at 12fps so it's easier to follow.

I thought I'd contribute. This is the first time I've ever recorded using the zbrush built in recorder. It's a female sculpted using the basemesh provided for the last few challenges.

Hope you like.

Very nice recording on your sculpt pap87! Thanks for posting, it helped me to understand better on how to sculpt the eye socket areas.
What alpha did you use to detail the hair clumps with?

pap87
26-06-2008, 04:57 AM
Glad it helped you AA-ron. I used alpha no. 54 which is the one with the circles in a horizontal line going from small to big to small again, just in case my no. 54 is not the same as your no. 54. I also set the stroke to freehand, I just like it better that way.

Here's the technique I used to create some of the rock formations in a couple of my sculpts. It's not glamorous like a typical human character but something else that Zbrush can do! :) (the real "meat" is after the first couple of minutes of course)

Speed sculpting challenge 06.
First time i've tried using the timelapse feature of zbrush.

Part 1/3
45 minutes into the sculpt.
Got the proportions roughly blocked in.
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/645cEGhv4mQ&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/645cEGhv4mQ&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Part 2/3
2.5 hours into the sculpt. 1,5 hours remaining.
Most of the major forms added.
Hands still need to be sculpted.
Hair needs a lot more work.
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zrhcB1CIIsY&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zrhcB1CIIsY&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Part 3/3
4 hours reached.
Would have liked a little more time to refine the details and use the other eye and teeth meshes for more cloth.
But got most of what I wanted to do done.
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/BjJPNL3lkcc&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/BjJPNL3lkcc&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Final Turnaround
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/vc5gr_fhUt4&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/vc5gr_fhUt4&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Here is my video from last sculpting challenge (011). Unfortunately I've lost first part of the movie in wich I'am shapeing this head from the sphere base mesh. There is some error while loading zBrush movie file :(

These videos are amazing.

Really great to watch and learn from the masters!!

Can I just ask........... What sort of resolution mesh are you guys sculpting with?? From the vids it looks high. Just curious as to peoples' work flow really.

You start low and work your way up the resolutions, building form as you go.

Hello everyone!

Here is a timelapse of an elven shield. I posted another one of these (much better actually) on ZBC and got a request for a tutorial, so I taped this, and I thought I'd share it with you guys!
