Think it took around 4 hours to render .........cinema 4d renders it pretty quick if you dont use too many hairs

It's great :D The hair dynamics is the automatic right? C4D calculates the hair motion depending on the object where they are placed I think.

Not to be a bad sport, because Mr Peculiars animation is awesome, but wouldn't the hair with the dynamics go against the rules?

Maybe so... But the hair is just an extra to the animation. The main animation work is in the character itself, and that was hand animated.
newhere also used those particle effects for the fireworks, and like the hair, they are just an extra.
But it's a good point Honki. Let Big_Toe decide ehe.

No worries. I'd just hate to see anyone miss out due to a technicality. This was a tough challenge....

Yea good point guys i really didnt think of it ........but as daddy said it is secondry and just follows the character along ......he is still totaly hand animated.

If it really comes down to it i can remove the hair and render it out bald ;)

Here's my entry.

Never got time to fix up the head movements..... So I'll just have to submit it as is.
If it's any consellation, the first 5 seconds is the 'official' part of the entry, and the rest is just extra.

Had heaps of fun doing it, and it certainly was a learning curve. Hope I get time to have a go on the 'wrestling move' comp :D

lythtis - i love it! simple yet effective. i love when he leans forward! :)
Mr Peculiar - also very nice. it was a tough one to choose between 1st and 2nd. :)
NewHere - very good - i think you have some more work on the cycle - but i like it!

1.Poker - some nice animation, take a look at some of your arc's though.
2.Mr Peculiar - Nice model and direction.
3.Lythis - nice readable/ believable movement on the hands and keeps to the beat.

Overall I think more attention went to direction than it did the animation. A bit more storytelling would be nice - good job Poker.
